I wish the same to you Anne, and everyone else, a safe and happy Labor Day weekend and holiday. My daughter lucked out, they changed her back to school date from Aug. 26 to Sept. 17, so she's been with her dad all week. I've had a whole week to myself, a rare luxury.  :)

It's pouring here on Long Island, as it has the past two days, but I wish everyone on the board a most happy Labor Day, and I hope you can have your BBQ's outside without worrying about the rain!

Love, Robin

It has been a fairly dreary weekend here in central MA.  Today is raining.  Not too much happening, just getting my two older children off to their colleges.  One left on Friday the other today.  Finally, able to get into her room and lets just say it is a good thing she has left and does not have to hear my voice level going up and up.  I lucked out the other daughter went off to the mall with her girl friend and Mom.  The last of the tribe is attached to a video in the rec. room.

It will be back to the routine starting tomorrow.  Don't know if I am happy or sad.

We decided to put in a pool.  Do you think we are nuts the season is short in N.E.?  I think we only have about seven years before the last one leaves the nest.  They start digging in Oct.  I keep going back and forth on it.

Hey, I think that's great Birdie!  It sounds like you're going to have an inground pool too!! That's fantastic!!   I always wanted an inground pool, just don't have the space for it.  If you're a swimmer like I am, then you'll still get plenty of use out of it even with the kids gone. I'd say go for it! :-)

As for the weather here,  well, it's been raining all week now in New York, we do need it though, so can't complain.  Hey Annie, I just might drop in where you are to enjoy the sun & barbeque!!  :-)

[bawl][bawl][bawl]Please, Please, send some of that rain to the Atlanta area.  I live 30 miles from Atlanta (thank goodness), but we have not had rain in soooooooo long.  4 year drought. Can't water yard (gave up on it several years ago), and the heat and humidity are awful.  To top that off we have "orange" days almost every day, which means that it is dangerous for people with asthma(me) or just about any other complaint to be outdoors.  Why do I still live here?  This is home, always has been, and always will be.  Enjoy your rain!

Where are they getting these bodies, Mulder,  are they making them?

I have an inground pool, wouldn't live here in Las Vegas without one. We have hot weather starting April through part of October, that's half a year.

I've always wanted a pool but hubby always said NO; too much trouble. Anyway, here in NY, we don't have that many really HOT days so most people have heaters so they can use their pools right into October or the first snow.

A pool is a lot of trouble unless you can hire someone to do all the cleaning and maintaining. I have someone come once a week to do all that. When the wind blows, the pool really gets a mess. I have a vacuum in there that comes on automatically too.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  The kids are so excited about our getting a pool.  We have an acre of land, one of those new developments, not too many trees.  My hubby didn't want a pool until this summer.  We realized a summer house at the beach was not going to be in our future so why not go for the pool.

We aren't going to have a pool boy.boo.  I would put an order in for one that looks like Don B. or David S.   A girl can dream can't she?
