[Mysterious Benefactor]

One of the local PBS stations was running a Thin Man movie marathon Sunday night, and while I was channel surfing I happened to notice that our very own Bathia Mapes played the part of Nick Charles' (William Powell) parents' maid in The Thin Man Goes Home (you can't help but instantly recognize her distinctive voice). She was hysterical and stole every scene she was in. Who knew she could be so adept at comedy?!

Wow MB, you're so right!   My Mother happened to be watching the movie one day last week and I just caught the ending, but all I had to do was hear that voice and that did it!   I said to my Mom "there's Bathia Mapes!!"   She was much younger of course but when I looked up I could still tell it was her.  I guess she had one of those one of a kind voices!
