bawkbawk me too.

(wondering...how far is Tarrytown from central NJ). I know I've been through there, circa 1979.

Also...does anyone know where most of the actors live?

Say does TLATKLS & Nancy Barrett and Marie Wallace (you follow, right?) live east coast?

This may be the most logical reason, although, as someone mentioned, CA is huge; this area is relative.

(IE, Raineypark and I might have about the same travel time, although we live in different states, Birdie too.)

VEGAS???? There was a Fest in VEGAS???? Details please.

Hi Patti,

The 1998 Festival was held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

As far as where most of the living DS actors live. I would have thought it to be the East Coast, but when compiling the list below, I'm not so sure about that.  ??? Off the top of my head, actors living out West that regularly attend the Festivals include; KLS, John Karlen, Lara Parker, David Selby, Chris Pennock, Jim Storm, and Roger Davis.(Robert Rodan only attends the Festival out West.)

My brother and I once made it home to Long Island from Tarrytown in 45 minutes......on a Saturday.......at 3am.......in his brand new '69 Corvette Stingray....... ;)

Has anyone ever attempted to get TPTB to consider Boston for a Fest?  I like Boston.  :D

Congratulations on figuring out how to chose an avatar from the list in your profile. But if you're waiting for praise for your choice, this is so not the forum for it.  [lghy]

The actors who are not living are on HBO's Six Feet Under?! Who knew? But, gee, I haven't recognized any of them.

Tarrytown sounds wonderful!  After learning about it from this thread, I think it's somewhere I would enjoy going even without the DS connection.

Living halfway between both coasts means it doesn't really matter to me which coast it's on (provided I could afford to make the trip), although I find California much more relaxing than I did my trip to NYC.  (If I had to choose between fast-pace/excitement and relaxing, I'd choose relaxing.)

Now if only I could think of some way to finance a trip on a graduate student budget ...

Vlad,
Tarrytown is very relaxing. Esp. Sleepy Hollow. You can't get more relaxed than that! Start saving!

Jen, is it four hours?  I thought we made it to the Tapanezz in about 3 hours, than again, maybe the husband does exceed the speed limit on occasion.  If the fest came to Boston I would be glad to co-host a gathering with you.

Deb, Here is a link about the historical villiage of Tarrytown if you want to check it out.

Thanks Cassandra.   It has some pretty interesting stuff on there,  very nice places to visit too.  A couple of my relatives live over there but I haven't been there in ages.  I remembering visiting with them when I was a young child and we took a ride to the old Sleepy Hollow cemetary that's there but thats about it.

Having the fest there looks like it would be much more of a vacation as well as being able to enjoy the festivities. It looks much more relaxed than NY city too! ;)

Um...and NOT that I'm up for a big amount of this..but, are we trying to try to have ??something?? next year?

What have we got to lose?

Are there any affordable hotels (I'm not a big B&B person).

Can we get  a hand count on how many would want to meet up next year (maybe ??early October??--thinking foliage)??

Is there a place we could each bring 1-2 of our own personal fav. eps to watch?

(I forget about the origins of this topic...what's exactly in Tarrytown?)
