This is Robert Cobert's and Kathleen Cody's first East Coast Fest (she joined us
in Burbank, CA, for the 2010 Fest). We welcome the Fest return of Sharon Smyth
.This brings together 2 of the younger DS actresses. (Kathleen portrayed Hallie
and Carrie Stokes. Sharon was Sarah Collins.)
Planned activities include: New, exclusive dramatic performances by the stars;
free autographs and photo opportunities with most of our guests; guest/audience
question-and-answer sessions; rare video screenings; fan costume/presentation
event (for fun, not in competition), memorabilia auction; contests; a wide
variety of DS merchandise for sale (some debuting at the Fest); historical
presentation and discussions; updating the upcoming DS movie starring Johnny
Depp; and a special Sunday night 45th Anniversary Gala Banquet with gifts and a
DS Awards Ceremony with the stars.
--- Sleeping rooms at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott Hotel are now available to
reserve at the special reduced Dark Shadows rate of $159.00 (+ tax) per night.
You must mention "Dark Shadows Festival" to receive this discount rate when you
directly call the hotel to reserve sleeping rooms.
The hotel says fans "now can reserve accommodations by phone at this reservation
number: 1-800-266-9432. Please refer to the 'Dark Shadows Festival 2011 Room
Block' to receive the group discounted rate."
It is recommended that fans make their hotel reservations as early as possible,
as the number of rooms at the discount rate is limited.
Please note that the Marriott Hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the
Brooklyn Bridge, right across from lower Manhattan. The greater NYC area is
easily accessible from the hotel via subway, bus, taxi, car, or walking.
To help with hotel costs - and often as a fun way to meet new DS friends - fans
may contact the Fest's Hotel Roommates Coordinator, Pam Jarman. She will relay
contact information between people seeking roommates. They then make their own
arrangements.

---- IMPORTANT 45TH ANNIVERSARY FEST NOTES:
This announcement is to inform fans about the hotel location and room
reservations, plus provide general weekend programming information. SG, the
Fest, and the Roommates Coordinator cannot make hotel or travel arrangements for
anyone.
Membership rates and the Banquet price are NOT yet announced. In the coming
weeks, SG Online Updates and the new SG #119 print issue will announce these and
other Fest news as details are confirmed.
The Fest plans a mass postal-mail with general information. It will include
membership information and a reservation form that you must use when sending
your payment(s) for the convention and the banquet dinner/awards gala.

Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) with $.44 postage (U.S. addresses)
