Thanks. I forgot to mention that Dan Curtis' Trilogy of Terror is also reflected as a TV shocker.

Dan Curtis' Trilogy of Terror is also reflected as a TV shocker.

As well as The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler TV movies.  [hall2_wink]

I've seen both "The Night Stalker" and the "Trilogy of Terror" those two are definately shockers (I love the Night Stalker). Not sure why I never considered DS to be a shocker, I see it more as romantic gothic. Nothing really shocked (except that it was pretty shocking Barnabas had an affair with his fiance's maid) but it mostly was very sad and dark.

Those were all good picks; perhaps I would've chosen different ones from Twilight Zone.

One I was expecting to see, I can't remember the name of. It had William Demerest (Uncle Charlie from My Three Sons) as a handy man....I cannot remember it, but I was soooo scared of it!

Not really that shocking actually.  If I recall correctly, he and Angelique "dallied" before he even met Josette.  For sure it was before they were engaged.

Hi Buzz, my understanding from the dialogue in the shows is that Barnabas "dallied" with Angelique WHILE he was courting Josette.  Behavior that was only slightly less tacky in the world of the upper-class Eighteenth Century landed gentry than it is today...

I attended a Halloween party on Saturday evening and at one point, the hosts (who had the TV on with one of the Donald Pleasance Halloween films rolling) played the infamous "Zuni Fetish Doll" segment of Trilogy of Terror, with the volume off.  Even so the TV became the focal point of the party for those twenty minutes.  People were screaming and carrying-on to beat the band.  It was a hoot!  I'd forgotten just how much eyeliner Karen Black wore in that segment.  And those eyelashes looked like loo-brush bristles!  Talk about a shocker!

Hmmm, you may be right, it's been a while since I've seen 1795, too much to remember from that plotline.   ;)

DS had some shocking moments, but I tend to see it in general as more suspenseful than shocking.
