No DS for 3 weeks???!!!

After Nov. 22, DS fans will be subjected to 3 straight weeks of pre-emptions, and possibly another 2 soon after.  SciFi's schedulebot shows that DS won't be shown at all during the Thanksgiving week (Nov. 25 thru Nov. 29), and this morning ShadowGram is reporting the following additional pre-emptions:

Dec. 2 thru 6
Dec. 9 thru 13

Dec. 23 thru 27
Dec. 30, 31, Jan. 1, and possibly the rest of that week

This is nuts.  Does anyone have SciFi's addys handy?

You can try writing to programming@scifi.com.

I sent them an e-mail yesterday and complained about the pre-emptions. Of course all I got was a generic response. I don't know how much attention they pay to e-mail.

Snail mail addresses should be available a scifi.com

What a terrible time to pre-empt the show, during the 1897 story line.

Whoa, that's WAY TOO MANY pre-emptions! Sci-Fi has often pre-empted DS for about two weeks or so around Christmas/New Years, but never for more than 2 days around Thanksgiving!!

But on the bright side (for me, anyway) it should give me plenty of time to catch up on the HUGE backlog of work I have on the forum. ;)

Actually, I'm a bit relieved that they will be interrupting it for so long during that period of time.  Both my TV and VCR are on their last legs and I plan on replacing both during that interlude.  That way, I won't risk the chance of missing any episodes.

I was afraid this would happen when I saw it wasn't going to do be airing any of the last week of November. Like Gerard, I have to replace my VCR over the holidays, but I still wish Sci Fi was airing it during that time. I really wouldn't have minded this as much during the Adam storyline (even though I still would've complained) but the 1897 storyline has been getting better and better *sigh*

This is crazy!!! They always pre-empt it while I'm on a break for school, which are the only times I can watch it without having to worry about doing homework afterwards.

Okay, I feel serious withdrawals coming on!  Methinks it is time to break into my tape stash behind the armoire.  Annoying to have to move it, but don't you think it's a somehow oddly appropriate place to store my DS archives? [jester]

Someone should really point out how dumb it is for this network to pre-empt a serial during a time when so many kids are off school and able to get into the show.  Dohdy doh! [silly]

I can't believe this - it totally bites!!!!

Has Sci-Fi committed to showing DS in 2003?  This is scaring me a little.  I have never seen the show pre-empted so much in all the time I've been watching it.

They have.  Sorry to scare you!  But in a different time slot...

--- DS will continue on Sci Fi Channel (SFC) through 2003.

--- DS' timeslot on SFC will change on Mon., Jan. 6. beginning on that date, the weekday (Mon.-Fri.) back-to-back episodes air 8:00-9:00 am (Eastern/Pacific).

Looks like I will be watching a lot of MPI videos, watched one last night before bed time. I don't want to miss this part of the show. It's really good.
