Perhaps if Frid had lived a bit longer (and if there was interest from both sides), he would have been featured in more Burton films, in a similar fashion to Vincent Price and Christopher Lee. The biggest horror icon from the golden era would have to be Barbara Steele but her close relationship with Lisa Marie seems to have made that unlikely.

I had the same thought. Though Frid seemed rather frail in the Depp/DS film, so who knows if he would have even been up to it...
