Title: OT: Classic 'All My Children' marathon on SOAPnet
Post by: VictoriaWintersRox on January 14, 2005, 03:01:10 AM
This is off-topic, but I know some people on here have expressed interest in the marathons SOAPnet sometimes shows. A great All My Children marathon is coming up on Saturday, February 12th from 7:00AM to 1:00PM. It will be featuring classic episodes of the show that feature Susan Lucci from 1970, 1979, 1983, 1986, 1988, and 2000:

March 15, 1970: Erica proves herself a force to be reckoned with as she pursues Jeff Martin.
April 20, 1970: Erica reveals her big plans for life in her famous, "I want to be special and I am going to be!" malt shop speech.
November 27, 1979: Tom Cudahy confronts Erica about her secretly using birth control pills.
February 16, 1983: Erica shoots a commercial at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
November 25, 1986: Erica tries to bust Jeremy Hunter out of prison via helicopter.
February 9, 1988: Erica gives birth to Bianca.
November 13, 2000: A Libidozone'd Erica sings on a piano at the Valley Inn.

Louis Edmonds was a cast member on AMC, where he played Langley Wallingford from 1979-1995, so maybe he'll be seen in one of the episodes in the marathon.  :)

Well if they every air this week. .let me or Gothick know! The week of April 16-20, 1973.  That was the week Grayson's short-lived character on AMC was introduced.  .Marge Grey was that her name? ???

Any chance Louis Edmonds as Langley Wallingford appears in any of these episodes?

Oh my sweet Goddess.

I woinder whether they have a complete run of tapes from 1973?  As Julia mentioned, Grayson was in a couple of episodes in April of that year.

I wonder whether any of the soap opera mags of that period said anything about her work on the show?

One of my DAYTIME TV magazines from '73 mentions that Henry Kaplan was directing "All My Children" at the time. Since Henry had also directed DS and seemed to work well with Grayson, I wonder if he got her the gig.
I vaguely remember Grayson's character had something to do with Erica, who was in New York working as a model (and yes, the fashions were "courtesy of OHRBACH'S").

I was over at wost.org and i came across episodes of All My Children's 25th anniversary week. Louis is featured as Langley Wallingford. He starts in segment 14 but if you are an AMC fan, then watching it from the beginning will be a treat.

Louis was in the 1979 episode that SOAPnet aired at 8:00AM. He shared some scenes with Ruth Warrick (Phoebe) and Eileen Herlie (Myrtle). The episode will be repeating tonight at 8:00PM.

OMG!!! Did everyone SEE!!

It was wonderful to see old B&W (like one of our favorite shows!)

They ran it a few times on Sat; I happened to 1st view a wedding at a jail? and I see ?Tom Cuddahy (hmm...wasn't he one of Erica's husbands! YUP!!)

Later Sat eve, I saw a 1970!! ep...it was delicious.

Don't stone me, BUT, Ruth Warrick looked (was dressed better) than Joan Bennett's character. The scenery was so nicer on AMC (but, hey, ABC had 4 years to learn from DS!!).

Has anyone ever heard anything if Louis Edmond ever discussed "Citizen Kane" with Ms. Warrick?

Okay...one of the eps, before 'Langley' marries Phoebe...he goes to Myrtle Fargate...didja see?

HE WAS TOTALLY ROGER COLLINS!!! I was hootin' & hollerin' at the TV!!

(See, we're not the only ones to watch re-runs of 'old time' soaps!)

Patti...who needs to chill with the exclamation points, n'est pas?

Patti, that all sounds delicious!

even if I still had cable, it's not available with the Neanderthals who run the cable around here.  but at least I can dream...

Anybody got captures from this???
