I do believe, for the name of the forums, that my name is already known by the userbase... I have a question, how can i resize my personal picture to something of more decent display proportions?

The forum automatically resizes any image used as an avatar to 65X68 pixels. If you'd like your photo of Barn to display more in proportion with the original image, you'll have to crop a copy of it in some way that's equal to that ratio and then upload the copy to your Web space.
I notice that the original image is 222X307, so cropping it to 222X232 would work. And you could even resample/resize it to 65X68 before you upload it.

As you can see it's mostly just a mattert of changing angle brackets into square ones, so someone like yourself who knows HTML probably won't have much of a problem picking it up.
