Title: Dennis Patrick on Barnaby Jones /ot
Post by: Annie on April 11, 2023, 09:14:58 AM
Hi all, just watching old reruns of Barnaby Jones guest star is Dennis Patrick, interesting to
see our DS actors or actresses on old shows back in the 70’s.
Anyway , just thought I’d share if it’s any consultation.

Thanks for the update, Anne.

You know, I don’t think there were many tv shows from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and into the 1990s that Dennis Patrick was not on.

Mr. Patrick was on “Bonanza,” “The Fugitive,” “Lost in Space,” “Emergency,” “Quincy ME,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “Hawaii 5-0,” “All in the Family,” “Dallas,” etc., etc.

Mr. Patrick truly was Mr. Ubiquity of American television. And, he rightfully takes his place along with John Anderson, Judith Chapman, William Shatner and, of course, Kathryn Leigh Scott, as one of the most prolific actors on American television.

[Easter Egg] Let us not forget Mr. Patrick's electrifying performance as Keema, the Golden Man on the science fiction classic Lost In Space.

And how Mr. Keema rescued Judy from the minefield of deflating beachballs!

I noticed his name in the opening credits, but figured there was no point in alerting anyone then.  I was only half watching it, so I ended up not even seeing him!!  I remember it from their previous showings, but don't remember him being in it.

I remember it from their previous showings

And speaking of the most recent previous showing, I'd posted this screen capture from it:

So I accessed DP's Barnaby Jones and took a screencap with my phone:

You know, maybe KLS’ next book should be a collection of the “colorful” limericks that Dennis Patrick and Thayer David used to regale their fellow DS actors with, back when they were filming the show? Heck, I’d pay thirty bucks to read that DS book!  [easter_evil] [easter_shocked] [easter_grin]

One of Dennis' "Cannons" was on tonight (this morning).  I forgot he was in this one.  I looked it up on imdb and there were 2 reviews, and one of them said, "Look for Dennis Patrick (as Owen), terrific gray-haired dramatic actor, best known as the probing detective on DARK SHADOWS."  Well, it's nice that DS was the one thing pointed out for him, but "detective,"  huh? ?? ??

Josette,

Maybe they confused Dennis Patrick’s character, Paul Stoddard, with the DS character, Inspector Guthrie of the Maine Stste Police?

After all, both men were “slimed-to-death” by the incredibly oleaginous Jeb Hawkes.  [easter_huh] [easter_undecided]
