Of course, she was mangnificent, and Peter Mac played 'nephew Fred' in this updated version of the Dickens classic. It was nearly standing room only until some additional seats were added (I was in the front row!). There were a LOT of inside jokes regarding DS (a housekeeper named 'Hoffman', a planned vacation to Martinique and the fact that Ebba Neesa Scrooge went to a girls' school that look a lot like you-know-what!).
After the show, our leading lady gave a Q&A session, and she revealed that this past Tuesday (trumpets please)-
SHE BECAME A GRANDMOTHER!!!! [blob6] [angel13] [cheer] [cheerleader] [crowdhappy]
Those of us who have attended the Festivals over the years know that this is something Lara has wanted for a long time, so here's an early Yuletide cheer to her new grandson, and let's remember that other little boy whose birthday we celebrate this time of year. [8_2_59] [occasion13] [ChristmaS15]
One last thing- if you were unable to attend the play, do yourself a favor and send a donation to "Help Is On The Way Today", which helps the needs of children afflicted with HIV. Heaven knows they need to have the best Christmas possible. Go to http://helpisonthewaytoday.org (http://helpisonthewaytoday.org)- thanks!
