Julia keeps reassuring everyone that everything's alright.  Why?  How would she know?  It seems to be hazy whether she's a psychiatrist, at least for newer viewers, but she may be used to humoring patients and can't kick the habit.  Julia again declares Liz dead on the spot, only to see Liz prove her wrong.... Welcome back Elizabeth!  Sorry you had to trek back to the house on your own...  She somehow experienced Angelique's going up in flames... in 1796.   She reveals Cassandra's guilt... Barnabas shoots the werewolf, who survives, end.

I like the look that Barn and Julia exchange when Elizabeth tells them about her vision of Cassangelique going up in flames. Maybe Julia is trying to reassure herself as much as everyone else when she insists that everything is okay. And it is, for the time being, now that Elizabeth is home. Carolyn's pride in her mother's strength of will is very touching. Nice work by NB and JB.

Barn has a good guess as to why Carolyn's bracelet repelled the creature, but he isn't talking.

Of course, if Elizabeth DID have that vision of Cassangelique getting dragged back to hell, why didn't the spell break there and then? Because the writers didn't want it to, I guess.

Well, her curse on Barnabas wasn't affected by whether she was present or in Hell or not, or dead...

Good point, MT, but do all the curses in the DS universe work that way?
I think that with the Leviathans it's a different story, but I don't remember for sure.

The Leviathan recursing on Barnabas stayed after they were gone.  Vampire effects on victims seem to disappear even including memories of them.
Right, MT! And then there's
Brutus Collins's curse on his own family, a curse that outlived him by almost 200 years.

Then of course there's Magda's curse on Quentin, which even she found impossible to undo.  I think the whole point of a curse is that it's permanent, unlike other supernatural influences.  Quentin's curse didn't even end with Quentin's death...
