Nice to read about the screening in September.  That would be a pleasant event for fans in the area.  If it fits my schedule, I'd go!

The budget was $750,000.  I bet the line item for catering/honeywagon on Depp Shadows is more than that.

G.

Neat-o!
If I still lived in NYC or Hoboken NJ, I'd go!
They should invite Nancy Barrett, who still lives in New York.

I remember the very moment I found out about HODS in 1970. On Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, I was 14 years old. We were headed to Grandma's for dinner. The Marboro Theatre in Brooklyn New York was at the corner of her block. Their, in full view of the street, was the HODS poster and the words Coming Soon.
I nearly fainted!

While everyone else atoned for their sins, I talked about DS all night!

Just imagine, David-Elijah, if, instead of making Reverend Trask a wild, fundamentalist Christian minister, they had made him Rabbi Trask.  Oy vay, the possibilities!

They'd have to rename Abigail Yente!

The author of the article either was misinformed, or got some notes mixed up. The Spratt house was used as the Old House in the TV series, not HODS.  The location used for the Old House in HODS was Beechwood, in Scarborough (several miles up the river from Lyndhurst).  The Spratt house could not have been used at all for the movie, since it burned down the year before.

At least she says there are contradictory reports about Spratt House. I'm thinking that while doing research she came across Web sites that said Beechwood was used and others that said Spratt House because, with all the DS misinformation out there, you just know there have to be Web sites out there that say Spratt House was used in hoDS.  [ghost_rolleyes]  And if that is what happened, she should probably being commended for doing research because so few people who write about DS seem to do much, if any.  [ghost_azn]

Gerard,

Joan Rivers once did this very funny bit about a man confronting a vampire and flashing his cross/crucifix at the creature of the night for protection, only to hear the vampire, in a decidedly Jackie Mason-like accent say:

"Oh, you poor, silly goy; that cross has absolutely no power over me!"  [ghost_rolleyes] [ghost_grin]

The Dark Shadows of Lyndhurst - NEW and UPDATED! http://fb.me/15IKzjeDE

Some great photos of Lyndhurst down in the slideshow. Though the article doesn't say enough about about NoDS because, well, it says NOTHING.  [ghost_angry]  I realize the article is to promote the hoDS screening, but still - especially considering that other articles about the screening have indeed included several references to NoDS...
