Current Talk '07 I / Re: Is there an update on the ds movies?
« on: July 03, 2007, 06:13:58 PM »
Any special features for the discs (and whether NODS will be restored for it) is still being decided. Negotiations have been going on for months and for the sake of the project, I'm not at liberty to discuss or speculate about anything until a concrete decision has been made- another reason I pulled the website.

Yikes! Doesn't sound good for a release this year. I may have to revisit the vhs  :(

Whatever happened to the restoration website Darren Gross had?  I'm very anxious to know when the dvd is being released and what special features it will have.

I don't want to open a can of worms here and I mean no insult to anyone's personal beliefs but it has taken me some time to come to the realization that people who say that their beliefs are "true" are essentially saying that everyone else's beliefs are lies.

Yup, that's been my observation too when it comes to religious-types.

BTW: do you have any comments on Fundamentalists Anonymous?

This is a shot of my computer, its placement slightly under my stairs, and the landing spot of the chair I was sitting in when I cliked on this link.  The red arrow is approximatly the location my head bounced off [and there ain't a lot of cushonin' up there!]

Thank you verrrrrry much, for the bump on my noggin, my near f*%#in' heart attack, and the fact I probably won't be sleeping for a week or so, with the adrenilin flow!

Ringo,

is that picture of your basement or main floor?  I'm wondering if the walls in the rest of your house are so similarly adorned?

At least you can tell your kids/grandchildren/nieces/nephews: "See the blood stain here?  That's from the day the ghost of kuanyin attacked me from my computer!" :)

Who is the person beneath Roger?  And is that Angelique to the right of him?

While I hope that "most" men (in general) are not homophobes, here in this forum I think this is certainly not the case. And conversely, if a man is not willing to discuss other mens' desirability, I don't think that necessarily makes him a homophobe. JMO.  :)

And if you're a straight male, how can you discuss Barnabas' desirability since you don't desire males?

However, speaking as a SM, I think B does have classical good looks, and his sophisticated and charming demeanor is a breath of fresh air.  That given, I don't blame women for finding him sexy -- J. Depp on the other hand is another story! :)

But, what really gets me, any time it comes up, but particularly during a modern-day time period like this part, is the silver bullets.  Barnabas casually mentions that he went into town and took a silver candlestick and had it made into silver bullets.  Can't you just imagine the scene when he's requesting that?!!!

Well, since the Lone Ranger tv show was popular in the 60's, I imagine Barnabus explained he was a fan of the masked avenger and merely wanted the bullets to match the new pearl-handled six-shooters he recently acquired. ::);)

Or you could just get 'em drunk. ;)

As I recall, Fr. Keating said that as true Christians we always pity an individual rather than scorn them.  I guess it's like the Catholic thought: "While we hate the sin, we love the sinner."  I'm sure that you can appreciate that benign sentiment and, possibly, relate to it as well.

Now you're getting all serious on me, Bob.  I was just trying to be facetious.;)  And are you sure that sentiment originated with the Catholics?  I often hear it spouted by evangelical-types too.

However, I'm reminded of something that Fr. John Keating told us back in theology class many years ago: "Ladies and gentlemen, whenever you deal with an exceedingly unpleasant person, just remember, he's more to be pitied than scorned!"

Then under what conditions is someone more to be scorned than pitied? >:(

Bj, who wonders if Bob_the_Bartender actually uses a  random valediction generator.

It's "Wyndcliff" according to "My Scrapbook Memories..." and that's good enough for me. :)

Rumor has it she's also drop-dead gorgeous as a vampire, but that just gossip... :)

IMO:  Depp has too much of that pretty-boy, druggie look to play the part of Barnabus.  I could see him portraying Willie, though, just as he would make an excellent Renfield.

My vote for Barnabus:  Christopher Walken!  He may not be sexy, but can he drip with evil! :D

Ha-ha! It's just a Flash animation that repeats every 20 seconds, abruptly flashing the picture of a screaming face accompanied by a blood-curdling scream.  Very startling indeed!  You had me going there with your backstory...you should have saved it for Halloween. ;D

I'm telling you, he's trying to swallow her face, at least thats what it looks like to me.  I guess Moltke just couldn't take finishing a scene dripping with saliva.  :P

Gotta give those DS writers credit:  only the very best rip-off artists could rip-off the X-Files over 20 years before it aired! ;)
