DS Festival 2003

So, the next Fest is being held at the Marriott in Brooklyn.  I must confess that I'm a bit disappointed--I was hoping for a return to the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.  Being within walking distance of all the Broadway theatres is a definite plus.

Not so suprisingly, there's no word on what that "first time ever, extra-special surprise" is.

In any event, I'm looking forward to attending and maybe this time, I'll get to meet some of the fine folks who post here.

Take care,

John

It probably is where the event is being held-Brooklyn Marriott Hotel. I think this is a first;)

BROOKLYN??   I gotta drive to Brooklyn???  What will they think of next?
I think I know what the surprise is.  Everyone will be treated to a tour of Karlen's boyhood home.

No...wait...I know what the surprise is.
DS CELEBRITY MUD WRESTLING.
Karlen vs. Selby  (ding!)

Second round:  R. Davis vs. Marie Wallace

Third round:  Special guest, J. Frid vs. L. Parker.

Wagering is encouraged.  Proceeds go to charity.

Two days after Fest:

SHADOWGRAM UPDATE:
ShadowGram is pleased to report that Roger Davis is out of the hospital and home, resting comfortably.
When reached for comment, Davis revealed...
"I lost a spleen, one kidney, and my liver, but it was worth it!"

END OF UPDATE.

John and Gianni (oops, didn't mean to be redundant), I hope you both decide to attend next year!

Gianni,

There are always dozens of new people attending every year, so please don't think that everyone knows everyone else. And we usually try to figure out some way for the people on the forum to meet up with each other at some point during the weekend, which is a nice chance for both new and seasoned Fest attendees to meet and get to know the new friends they've made online through the forum. So, please know that we'd love to see you there. ;)

Well, if I go, I won't really know anyone there either.
Maybe those of us who don't know anybody should all get together and form one of those infamous "cliques" we heard about recently.  LOL

PS  Now watch...no one will want to be in a clique with me...(lost at a cold, cruel DS "pick-up" Fest of shame and desire)

JIM PIERSON FUND

VAM, as I know doing proper research is very important to you, I encourage you to share the research you evidently have done already on whether or not the money designated for charity at the festival really goes there.  I'm sure you would not just have publicly accused someone of "stealing" unless you had hard evidence to back it up.  The reason I am curious is that I know of people who actually did check into it and found the festival has made ongoing designations to charities over for many, many years.

And I'm confident that you don't have one source but several since you only recently stated you prefer having more than one source of information and I know none of them are from the internet.  You mentioned not caring for that resource.

So please share your findings here since many here do attend the festivals and pay our admission being under the impression that proceeds to go to charity.

Thanks very much.  Looking forward to the information you have. I'm always prepared to change my mind when shown evidence of wrongdoing.

Nancy,

Apparently,  you don't know me and see that I am just having a little bit of FUN with that comment. If I had a serious accusation to make it surely would NOT be here.  Hmmm...Looks like I am misunderstood and I think I will terminate  my posting on this board, where there is no sense of humor.

Oh, me too John! I just knew it would be there - so much for psychic abilities.  Anywho, it won't keep me away if there is any possible chance I can go.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were some way to have it in say - Newport, RI?  We could all stage a takeover of Collinwood! [vryevl]
