Both ProfStokes and I noticed that many cousins have been omitted from the birthday list.

Actually, the birthday list is in the possession of the forum moderators.  Through some periods, helpful volunteers such as WidowsHill and Kimbrough have handled the acknowledgements, which has been great, but we've always had ultimate responsibility for it.

Anyway, some forum members prefer to not list their birthdays in their profiles, but that's a separate issue from whether or not someone wants their birthday announced when it comes up.  When a birthday isn't posted on the forums there may be a reason for it, so if you ever wonder why an announcement was skipped please feel free to privately ask one of the mods and we'll tell you yay or nay on announcing it, and of course we do make mistakes (oops).  And when a birthday is dropped from someone's profile it may be because they removed it and as I alluded to earlier in this topic the best course of action is to privately ask the member.
Melanie and Quentin came down with the plague in 1841 PT too - remember?
Ah, yes, the supernatural plague.  That one first came to Collinsport in the 1600s.  ::)

Current Talk '04 II / Re: Lt. Tom Forbes
« on: August 06, 2004, 12:30:41 AM »
So, Tom Jennings is gone, correct?

Yes, but I think you meant to ask if Joe Haskell is gone.  Tom and Chris Jennings were played by Don Briscoe, and Joel Crothers played Nathan Forbes and Joe Haskell.

Quote
Does anyone know how they got him to stay on for ??longer?? to do this re-do of Lt. Nathan Forbes?

At this point Joel Crothers has already left the show.  The final episode he taped was #658.  The appearance of Nathan Forbes in the current montage for #662 & #663 is actually flashbacks taken from 1796 eps.

Current Talk did NOT show a "new" indicator.  When I went to the board, there was a "new" tag by one topic and the last post there was one I had read before.

You may also have noticed that the post was half the size it was when you first opened it mostly due to
removing several lines of blank space

So, while that board still put the "new" on it, the main topic heading knew not to!!!

Yes, the board listing does not light up for edits.

Current Talk '04 II / Re: Jeff Clark / Peter Bradford ... huh?!?
« on: August 05, 2004, 04:08:28 AM »
The robbers probably could have made at least three wigs with it.

Hmmm... That's it! That must be how it was done! The real Jeff Clark became possessed by Peter Bradford's spirit when poor Clark put on one of the Bradford wigs!!

Ha ha, you're so wicked!

But then there's Prof. Stokes' stated belief in episode #660 that there was a real Jeff Clark, his body was possessed by Peter Bradford's spirit (presumably on that night that Clark was found wandering around with no memory of who he was), and when the spirit returned to its own time, the borrowed body was returned where it belonged. Stokes was sure that was true, so who knows?

I don't think we saw anybody telling Stokes about the empty coffin, but if it really was Peter's spirit possessing Jeff's body, why wasn't Peter's body in his grave?

Roger did suggest graverobbers.  Um, yeah, they must've been after the hair.  ;)

So, was Jeff really Peter Bradford transported forward in time?  Or was he a reincarnation of Peter?

We're led to believe it's the former.

Quote
was wondering how or if it was ever explained.

In #625 (and again in #626) Jeff went to the cemetery on his wedding day (romantic, no?), dug up Peter Bradford's grave, and found the coffin empty.

Robservations #625 - Wedding Day?

By #637 he had all the memories of Peter Bradford.  Before he exchanged vows with the Vicki wannabe he told her that marrying him would be like marrying a corpse.  Then when he was pulled back into the past, Jeff Clark's body went with him.

Robservations #637 - Mrs. Peter Bradford--or is that...

Somehow-- well, supposedly because of Vicki's love and his promise to her-- Peter, for a time (far too long as far as I'm concerned), lived again.

occasionally I'll still have an item indicating "new" and it turns out to be something I read the previous day - it's usually just the one item and everything else really IS new and it's just every once in a while.

We've noticed that modified posts will regain a "new" tag for visitors who have already read it.  If you've read a post and the "new" tag reappears it was probably edited, though you'd be hard pressed in most cases to notice the change because it's usually something as benign as a moderator fixing the code in a post or removing several lines of black space, and as you said it only happens once in a while.
