The two of you had me spitting iced tea all over my computer desk.

;)I must have Liz also. I remember her in those wonderful old movies, and yes, some of them were 1st-run movies for me. EGAD! Could I be THAT old?
I don't think one of the possible answers was, "Pace about your house in your elegant smoking jacket and trademark monacle, while offering your guests a glass of sherry."
you'd have to email me privately---no way could they be seen here!
I hit the quote button in a post I wanted to reply to but when I posted my response, the quoted sentence didn't post with a gray box around it like I see in all the other posts that have quoted text. I remember reading something about that but when I went to the help page it just read to click on the quote button.

Didn't you tell me you were going to move "Daughters of Darkness" to the top of your DVD list?
the Parental Warning Label they'll slap on anything the 'Bad Boy from Brooklyn" narrates....

I don't know, but if you find one, let me know--my husband can join it with you! I made the mistake of buying him a DVD player, and now he's buying DVD's like we're rich--which we're not!
However, somehow, I wouldn't have a problem with Johnny (or any DS actor) going crazy in the commentary. I mean, when you wanna watch it "seriously", you just turn the audio commentary off, right?
There's an audio commentary on the DVD of John Karlen's film "Daughters of Darkness" that is just out of control. His comments are so funny (and so bawdy) that they completely overwhelm what's on the screen, and the journalist interviewing him does nothing to rein him in. I had to keep stopping the DVD player to catch my breath I was laughing so hard.
you said there was no way to bypass the intro -- I was just offering a solution. And if you have a macro key on your remote, it's even less painless.
Well, it's easy enough with my Panasonic: right at the FBI warning screen I press "display" on my remote to get the on-screen icon bar, I flip to Title 3 (which is the first episode), then press "menu" and I'm there.
BTW: your dvd vs vhs comparison is a bit misleading because there's usually some bluring when a vcr is in freeze-frame mode; so the difference probably isn't as dramatic as you have presented it.
I kinda wanted more from the DVDs. Not more episodes...40 per set is fine. But more bonus features. The interviews are nice, but (having only scanned them) they are rather old, as footage from them showed up on Behind the Scenes tape and that was released close to a decade ago.
Maybe 1 episode per disc could have an audio commentary from one of the actors! Or in the future, the first episode that an actor appears in could get an audio commentary from said actor.
I also wish there were chapter stops within the episode. Having the entire episode as one chapter stop still will mean a lot of fast forwarding and rewinding vs. a lot of nexts!
Anyway, I realize that all costs $$ and so is not likely to happen, but it would be nice!
PS. This is my very 1st post....so hopefully I did alright!
