Title: Donna Mc Kechnie in film Every Little Step
Post by: David on June 20, 2010, 05:32:47 PM
Anyone see the documentary Every Little Step?
It follows the casting for the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line, and includes an extensive look back at the original production.
Donna Mc Kechnie, who won a Tony for the original, is interviewed and pops up throughout the film.

I think this film played the fim festival circuit two years ago. It aired on the Starz Cinema channel last night at 3:30 AM.
I recorded it but have not watched yet--this was it's final airing for this month.

I'll watch it during the week.
Anyone see it?

I haven't seen it. But why do I suspect that a certain member with "ubas" as part of his name might have all her parts memorized?  [wink2]

Not sure who "ubas" is!
I'm watching it now--there's footage of Donna dancing in the original production, and a very cute clip of her from a Dannon Yogurt commercial.!

I saw Donna do this show at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco in 1986--Mama Mia, could she dance!

DS day player Marsha Mason, who went on to be an Oscar nominee, is talked about in this film--she knew creator Michael Bennett & influenced the direction of Cassie, Mc Kechnie's character!

I saw her do the show in San Francisco too, David, but I must have seen an earlier production, because it was much earlier than 1986. Donna was wonderful. Probably the first National tour of the show.

I own a DVD of Every Little Step, and it has an extra entitled "Donna McKechnie: In Conversation." Sad to say that I have not yet made time to watch any of the extras.  [ghost_wub]
