There are a couple of memes here, Patti, that include Passover (Pesah/Pascha). Only in English-speaking countries is "Easter" used. It comes from the Nordic source of the goddess of spring and rebirth, Eostre. The proper name for "Easter" in Christianity is "Passover." It used the Greek translation (Pascha) derived from Hebrew (Pesach) which means Passover. That's why so many Christian denominations have Paschal candles and such. Easter, like so many celebrations we have, come from an amalgamation of beliefs and practices, Pagan, Jewish and Christian (like Christmas, from where decorated trees and the world yule come from Paganism).
It's all seasonal fun. Regardless of one's beliefs, enjoy and have fun. As for me, I wait for my favorite - a huge bag of Reese's chocolate peanut butter eggs.
Happy Easter! Happy Passover! Happy Eostran!
