Jonathan: "Three soliloquies in this episode and no teleprompter! I'm doomed!"

Ilene Kristen told me that due to cost cutting, the soaps eventually did away with teleprompters altogether, so he really would have been up that certain creek.

([pointing-up]  That would have killed Frid!!  Well, if he was even still on the show...)

Another OLTL story, from a different era. Jacqueline Courtney didn't memorize her dialogue (or didn't bother to) and had a habit of writing her lines on her hands. Some of the other actors, Phil Carey in particular, would wet their hands and go up to Jacqueline and shake hands with her, obliterating her dialogue. Right before taping.

Frid, among others, would not have lasted long term on OLTL.

(What a bastard! But you know, I always got that vibe from him, so it doesn't surprise me in the least...

Too bad RD never worked with Carey on OLTL - I would love to know who would have gotten the better of whom. But then, perhaps there's little doubt that RD would have met his match...)

That would have been poetic justice!
