Hmmm - "there were no shirtless hunks and breathy beauties on Dark Shadows." Well, certainly not as many as would soon become de rigueur on every soap - but obviously whoever wrote that hasn't watched all the eps because they were certainly there.

Anyway, I was always a particular fan of post-full moon shirt-nearly-ripped off Quentin, but the breathy beauties were quite lovely, as well!    [hall2_kiss]

How odd - your link brings up a totally different version of the article than the Google link I'd received brought up when I'd posted but now brings up an error. I guess they redesigned and moved it for some reason. That fool doesn't realize that DS invented the whole concept of the shirtless hunk on daytime--with Don Briscoe, Selby, and let's not forget Joel Crothers.
