CAGNEY+LACEY REUNION WITHOUT KARLEN
« on: May 08, 2009, 03:25:52 AM »
the morning show on CBS had a mini CAGNEY+LACEY interview/reunion with TYNE DALY, SHARON GLESS, HARVYEY ATKIN + MARTIN COVE. JOHN KARLEN was absent. i did not catch the interview from the beginning so i dont know if KARLEN was even mentioned. i was surprised to hear them state that they get no residuals from the dvd releases. i can understand that about shows from the 50s/60s/70s but find it hard to believe that in the 80s the agents did not anticipate home video releases.

Thanks, joe!  It appears that the entire segment is online...

The mention of not getting residuals referred to downloads (iTunes and tv.com).

getting a bit off-topic but i recently had an interesting chat with actress polly draper who played ellen on the late 1980's series "thirtysomething".

the subject of dvds came up and i remarked that i was surprised that the popular series had not been released.she replied that it's difficult for them to release it because the program's classic babyboomer soundtrack(beatles, stones, etc)means heavy royalty payments to those bands and it would be too expensive.

interesting.
