Since only Michael found the connection to which I refered, I'd like to apologize for not making my "6 degrees" game clear: Judith Chapman has a DS connection unrelated to Barbara Blackburn and Roger Davis in that she appeared in a non-DS-movie for which Bob Cobert composed the score.

I got spanked, too, a few times back in the 60s. Fortunately, as I grew up I was taller and bigger than my father--but I still didn't talk back to him until after I moved out of the house, and even now I "respectfully" disagree with him--even though he's usually wrong. LOL.

Hi, all. Just ran across a movie whiloe exploring IMDB and found some interesting DS connections. So, for what it's worth, can anyone out there connect Roger Davis to Barbara Blackburn via Judith Chapman?

Welcome to DARL SHADOWS' reality: where day is night and night is day; where people rarely sleep (except when the plot calls for someone to be asleep so a vampire can attack); where the full moon rises three or more nights in a row (so the werewolves can stalk more victims); where one can enter a new dimension in time by crossing a threshold, walking up a staircase or throwing some Chinese wands (not to mention seances); where it never snows in the winter, and where thunderstorms produce only lightning and thunder but no rain; where 22-year-old women are regularly attracted to 43+-year-old men, and vice-versa; and where the more unusual, odd and NOT like real-life things become, the more we love it! LOL.

Please don't let DC remake the Barnabas and Josette story yet again. After 1967, HODS and 1991, I think we've "been there-done that" to the nth degree. Mr Curtis--please show some originality and creativity (and bring back some of our favorite actors from BOTH TV versions of the shows.

I couldn't play the Nancy Barrett segment on the Samsung player I bought about this time last year, but it (and other "defective" DVDs) plays perfectly on the newer model Samsung M301 that I bought last June.

Beverly Atkinson, one of the few black actors to appear on DS, has passed. She is noted primarily for her stage work, but also has some film work to her credit.

We can only hope then that the print used for the LD, and last year's showing in LA, will find its way to DVD someday soon. (FYI, I picked up another VHS copy of HODS today--just to check it out for quality--at Saturday Matinee for $7.50--they were having a huge 'moving' sale, with VHS @ 50% off and DVD @ 30% off, and I found a few DVD bargains, too--and the VHS label which used to feature the MGM logo now features the Warner Brothers logo.)

Darren, what was the original aspect ratio for HODS? (And NODS, while we're at it?}

Hi, all.

I posted a message about HODS on the DVD Review site, under "Horror and Cult Films." Any responses over there might be helpful in getting HODS on DVD. (Plus, I'd like to hear any other opinions on the quality of the VHS print.)

Thanks.

Interesting bit of trivia. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Klugman a little more than two years ago (during a party for an Equity organizing campaign of Universal Studios Theme Parks in Orlando--Tony Randall and Jean Stapleton were also on hand as our special guests). Jack had a great sense of humor and is a very nice, down-to-earth person. To hear him tell about the Broadway strike of 1960 in order to win a pension for actors is a real treat. (BTW, both Tony and [especially] Jean [what a delightful lady!] were very nice people, too--I don't want to leave anyone out.)

For those of you who've met some of the DS actors at the conventions (or elsewhere, as I have: Keith Prentice and Marie Wallace are two DS stars I've met)
and discovered that they, too, are just like you and me, you'll understand that the best actors and the biggest stars (for the most part) are humble, human and accessible.

This was not about name-dropping, but to share my experiences with our country's "stars" with the rest of you.
