Kinda funny; as I've stated, I'm not even remotely a regular viewer, yet I've been watching this post (and subsequently viewing the show & watching Amazon for it) very often!!

I haven't seen the final numbers for the season finale yet, but I did come across this very interesting article:

CBS Finishes Season Number 1 in All Key Ratings Categories

To say Elementary has been a success for CBS this season would be an understatement, as the statistics presented in the article clearly show.

(Also notice that over the course of the season Elementary routinely gained an additional 3 million viewers each week once the Live+7 DVR numbers were factored in - which is why, as I said last week, it's quite possible that Elementary's finale ultimately came in ahead of Scandal.)

I had to miss the finale - I am happy the show is a success and that JLM has a hit on his hands. I caught Miller in a Richard Zanuck bio on TCM. DS (in production at the time) was prominently featured. Miller was bald, and seemed unlike any character I've ever seen him play.

The finale was amazing with loads of twists and turns - one in particular that was hugely surprising. But I won't say what it was because hopefully you'll be able to catch the finale when it's rerun.

I wish I'd known that was on TCM because I would have loved to have caught it. But perhaps it will be on again.

And yes, JLM was bald during the shooting of DS and appears that way in a lot of the promotional video shot while shooting. Here's a screen cap:

JLM had shaved his head for the theatre production of Frankenstein he'd been doing with Benedict Cumberbatch (in which they switched off playing the doctor or the monster on different nights), and I suppose he continued shaving his head during the shooting of DS because it probably made it easier to apply the blond Roger wig.

And speaking of screen caps, JLM had a few shirtless scenes in the Elementary finale, but I haven't had the chance to capture/post anything them from them yet. But as soon as I get the chance, I definitely will because I know there are certainly members here who would love to see them. [easter_cheesy]

Yes please  [easter_grin]  I know there are several of us who would enjoy this!  Much appreciated!  I didn't get a chance to watch the Zanuck thing- Miller is certainly a handsome devil even when he's bald   [easter_smiley]

I really enjoyed Elementary this season and can't wait to watch again next year.  I enjoyed the finale with Natalie Dormer-- if any here watch Game Of Thrones, she is also quite awesome in that as Margaery Tyrell.

Ask Matt
(Scroll down to the second part of #5.)

I know others have mentioned this problem, though like I said, I don't seem to have it. But like Matt Roush, I've watched a lot of British TV (on PBS since the '70s), so I suppose my ear has been tuned.  [ghost_wink]

Finally got to see the finale - wow - didn't see that coming. Great show, great actor. Wish he'd have had more on-screen time in Dark Shadows, I love his Roger.

America's Most Watched: The Top 25 Shows of the 2012-2013 TV Season

To place where it does among all TV programs, including cable, is not half bad.  [ghost_wink]  Plus coming is as the highest-rated in total viewers among new series.  [ghost_smiley]

MB...your above pic that lists JLM/Roger Collins; is this from some 'back' footage on DS DVD, or was it on the aforementioned TCM bio?

Thanks,

Patti
