How did the initials VW get back on Vicki's red bag after we saw David pick at and pound on them til they fell off?

Is ALL of this Alexandra's real hair?

I prefer Mark Allen too.
Sam:  "[Tell] not another soul in that ghost-ridden house of tears."
Beautiful!

If the 18 years means anything, VW and Carolyn would be the same age, and non-identical twins...

It would make them more like 2 1/2 years apart, give or take.  When her father left 18 years before, Carolyn wouldn't be born for another 6 months. Vicki said her monthly support didn't start until she was 2 years old, which (according to Carolyn) was also 18 years ago.

According to Wallace's Shadows on the Wall, Vicki and Carolyn are 3 years apart (20 and 17 respectively).

Though it would be a hoot if that car that was on the Collinwood set was one of them.  [ghost_wink]

Aren't there 2 abandoned cars on the Collinwood set?

Run, Vicki!  Run!!!!!

I love Carolyn's joke that at the stroke of twelve, her uncle Roger will turn into Dracula!

Same here!  Interesting follow up, too:  "He won't bite."

i loved the fact that she stood up to herself."

She defended herself really well.

Between the accusations, Roger made a couple of good points.  It is indeed surprising that Burke Devlin took the train to Collinsport, and it is quite a coincidence that he took the same train as Vicky did.

True, but Liz sought Vicki out and not the other way around (wouldn't it be an even bigger coincidence that Liz would offer a job to someone that also knew Burke?), and isn't the nearest airport 50 miles away in Bangor?

I found it surprising that Liz left Vicki alone in the drawing room with Roger.  And the first thing he did was close the doors, ulp.  Then he offered her brandy!

The late Florence Stanley, aka Mrs. Fish, provided the sobbing.

I didn't notice Vicki's backless slip-ons before, and I like them.  OMG, mscbryk, I really said that!!

Sorry Lydia, I hope future discussion in spoiler brackets is okay... for you, the WP, etc...  If not, I can easily stop.

Magnus,

Discussion of future events is probably inevitable, especially this early in the series, so the mods surely appreciate that spoilers be inside the spoiler tags, or we'll add them eventually.

And I'm sure Bill Malloy knows what Roger's car looks like,

That Shelby Mustang would definitely stand out.  Does anyone know what color it was?

Elizabeth is playing Chopin's Prelude in C Minor.
Did it make anyone think of Barry Manilow?  No?  [ghost_wink]

It's weird seeing pearls around Liz's neck and, uh, nothing else.

40 rooms in the house, and there's an east wing and a west wing.  So, maybe, a dozen rooms - six up, six down - per wing and 16 rooms - maybe nine up, seven down - for the main part of the house?  It doesn't seem like so much when you break it down that way.

It really doesn't now that you've put it that way.  Maybe that's why the total will change?

Quote
Vicky got the room that Elizabeth slept in until she got married.  Why doesn't Carolyn have it?

I think because that room is small and filled with old furniture-- roomy and full of history by Vicki's standards, but likely cramped and gloomy by Carolyn's.  So, little Carolyn dreamed of being carried off by a white knight, and now an expensively-dressed man with super powers (can halt a nasty fight with one look) has appeared suddenly and taken charge of her.  Yikes!

Strake:  "I'm glad the fight's over, Mr. Devlin."
Burke:  "It's just beginning, Mr. Strake."
Great stuff!!

Will Vicki EVER take off that trench coat?

Are they making a special stop at Collinsport for Victoria and Burke?   The biddy (I don't intend to be disrespectful; I think she was hired to be a "biddy") said the train hasn't stopped at Collinsport in five years.   Wait, five years?!

Yes.  And she said it hadn't made a regular stop there in maybe that long.

I not only had no problem with Vicki approaching Burke or getting into his car, I thought both were smart choices.  With all the time Liz spent contemplating her arrival, did she ever once consider sending a car for her?  (Anyone but Roger?)  If Burke hadn't happened along, would the poor girl have been stranded on the platform all night, waiting and wondering if a taxi was going to show?  How safe would that have been?

The actor playing the conductor returns in the 1897 story as a doctor tending to Barnabas.  I'd totally forgotten that Bob O'Connell/Bob the bartender was in the first ep!

He probably got that about a theremin from Bob Cobert's interviews (including the one on the Soundtrack Collection, and yes, you mustttt add it to your collection!) or Fest presentations.

"House of Despair" is the first in the series of Big Finish audio CDs.  That one was written by Stuart, who I feel has a superior grasp of the DS mood and characters.

Very thought-provoking; thanks for the link.

Spotted one of Selby's fellow castmembers from the recent Dracula production.  My daughter was impressed because he said he voiced an autobot in the last Transformers movie.  [ghost_tongue2]
