Current Talk '02 II / Only 8...
« on: September 22, 2002, 10:40:33 PM »
actors in this week's shows?  Surely that can't be right, I mean, I know DC was a cost cutting fiend, but 8 for 10 eps is a little ridiculous.

OK...

Let me just start by saying that by posting this, I am in no way trying to take away from the general function of this board or from the ability of those who run it to do the best they can in that.

Let me also say that by posting this, I am not asking for help other than a reply post attempting to answer my questions.

I will also try to be as forthcoming in describing my "problems" (though even this is probably too strong a word) as I can be.

Anyway...  I couple days ago I mentioned that I had a problem accessing the members archive with my browser (Internet Explorer version 5).  Other people also mentioned this problem, so I won't go into great depth with it (though I can if asked to).  This, in fact though, isn't my actual problem.  I found that I could access the archive (at least sometimes, I think I need to clear my cache maybe?) using Netscape Navigator version 4.75 (a program I didn't think I owned at the time).  After emptying my Netscape cache this evening (between 10:30 and whenever I manage to post this message) I tried to access the members' archive and received this message

"Uh, uh, uh!  You should know better than to try to come here using that browser!"

I assuming (maybe wrongly), that this isnt just another randomly generated error message.  I mean, there was a little smiley shaking its finger at me shamingly.  So, does this mean that my netscape 4.75 just can't enter the member's archive or have I triggered this message in some other way?  I know this isn't the most urgent plea, but help would be appreciated.

Oh, and thanks!

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / archive problem? maybe?
« on: July 26, 2002, 05:28:46 AM »
I hope this hasn't been adressed already, but I think it may be unrelated to the other problems involved in accessing the board.

Anyway, when I click on any of the links from the main dsboards page to try and enter the members archive I get this message:

"You have tried to enter the Members' Archive in an invalid manner. Please go (back) to the main forum and use one of the five links provided in the Members' Gateway."

Maybe its just me, maybe I've missed a message adressing this (in which case I guess I deserve a sound "sit down and shut up" from the gracious admins), but whatever, just letting y'all know.

(Oh, and I use IE5, if that matters)

Current Talk '02 I / Fave Character?
« on: May 06, 2002, 02:38:03 AM »
Maybe I'm just suffering from memory loss, but for all the opinion polls on this board and on the previous one, I can't recall a single no-strings-attached "who is your favorite Dark Shadows character?" thread, and its been bugging me.  So, without anymore delay...

Who's your favorite Dark Shadows character?

Ive gotta admit, as an early episode fan, I've always liked Vicki.

Current Talk '02 I / "What If..."
« on: April 22, 2002, 04:10:44 AM »
Inspired by the Marvel Comic Series of the same name, this thread will attempt to delve into the world of the unknown, a world that should maybe left alone, the world of "what ifs".

In other words, what crazy events that never happened could have changed Dark Shadows as we know it today, and what would be the outcome?  There's a world of possibilities out there...

For example: What if KLS had been cast as Victoria Winters, and Alexandra Moltke as Maggie?

or...

What if Johnathan Frid became fed up with his role on the show and left after his stint as guest villain?

(Now that everyones making these VAM-style threads, I figured, hey, why not?)

Current Talk '02 I / "The Prisoner"...
« on: March 10, 2002, 11:58:12 PM »
Here's one for all you hard-core 60's TV buffs:

I was watching Patrick McGoohan's out-of-control 1960's cult TV series, "The Prisoner" (episode: 'Dance of the Dead') and one of the characters was followed around by the tune from Josette's music box.  I'm aware that the melody is an actual piece of music so it could just be coincidence, but I though it was interesting  as "The Prisoner" aired during DS's run (summer of '68 i think.)
