A friend of mine wanted me to check if anyone has been up to the church where Louis donated the Rookery? I thought there was some sort of memorial there but wasn't sure. He is going to be in the Long Island area for Memorial Day and thought it would be fitting to visit.
Has anyone been up there since Louis passed away?

Sorry, there is no memorial for Louis on that property. Although like you I would like to visit there.

The church across the street now uses the Rookery as a Parish House~~they inherited it from Louis.

I believe that Louis' ashes were spread in the back garden.
Maybe the church would allow a memorial plaque to be put up.

Anyone recall the name of that church?

I think if Louis had wanted that it would've been done.  The lack of one infers to me, he did not want any memorial.

I spoke to someone at the Caroline Church.
Louis is actually buried in the garden.
There is a plaque there with his name, date of birth & death.
People are welcome to pay their respects.
