It's very nice that more and more places are setting the record straight about the Depp/DS film:
Tim Burton’s Flop-Less Career
As a director, he’s one of the most consistent moneymakers.
Although, I still take issue with articles that report the film had a $150 million budget when that was only one guesstimate, and not even the most widely reported one at that. $100 million and $125 million were the most reported quesstimates - and as we've pointed out before, it's actually greatly likely that the real budget was between $100 and $125 million for the film to have already made a profit when Burton said in the NYT that it had.
It's also interesting that a few reports (citing just one source) are saying that Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children's opening foreign boxoffice outpaced what the Depp/DS film brought in for its opening - but MPHfPC brought in $36.5 million in foreign markets, whereas DS brought in $37.3 million, so how in the world is that outpacing DS?!
