Thanks for posting this, Bette, and to Nicky...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!  Woo!!!!!

When we met via the SciFi boards, you were in High School, wow!  How time flies.  {sniffle}  I wish I could be there, but I'll be thinking of you.

Love you!  :-*

Current Talk '02 I / Re: Recommending DS DVD to Buffy fans
« on: May 17, 2002, 07:02:11 PM »
Thank you for that wonderful idea!

Since I ended up having to order the 1st season of Buffy on Amazon because it kept selling out in my area, I already pre-ordered the 2nd season.  Buffy is my favorite current show-- I'm on pins and needles waiting for next week's finale!-- and of course DS is my favorite of all time. :D

As an avid fan of Lang & Clark, I can only dream about the great film comedies that would have made together, uproarious flicks  such as "Lang & Clark Meet Adam, The Manmade Monster".  Of course, the sequel would have been entitled "Lang & Clark Meet Eve, The Bride of Adam."  There would have been other classic comedies like "Lang & Clark Meet Dr. Shaw & Mr. Yeager."  But, perhaps my favorite film would have been Lang & Clark in "Hold That Doppelganger!"

ROFL!  Bob the B, you are too much!!

Perhaps a little beyond your comprehension?

That was uncalled for.  Consider this a warning that anything that comes off as the slightest bit rude or belittling toward any other poster, whether you claim it was said in jest or not, is getting removed from the board.

Current Talk '02 I / Addison Powell

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I believe that the much-maligned Addison Powell won a Tony award for one of his Broadway stage performances.  I'll check with my "good buddy," critic Donald Lyons, to ascertain the specific, award-winning performance of this wonderful actor and get back to you.

Bob the B,

Addison Powell won an Obie Award the first year they were given out for his off-Broadway role in "The Iceman Cometh" along with 2 other actors.  It's listed here:

Hi, MB.  Long time no talk. ;)

If single appearances on DS count, Marsha Mason (aka Audrey the Leviathan Vampire Girl) was nominated for 4 Oscars, 1 Emmy (for Frasier), and 4 Golden Globes, winning 2 GGs as best actress.

Midnite,
I  would think by now it is a given that I am joking or teasing...I will  certainly stop if it is a problem for the posters.

That's my point-- please don't assume it's a given.  And in this situation, I have only to read my messages to know it wasn't clear to everyone that you were kidding.  But if you mean stop joking or teasing, no way.  A smiley-- ;), ;D, J/K (just kidding, not John Karlen, hee hee), or even an LOL helps.

Yep, have to agree with TLATKLS' opinion that John Karlen was the best actor in the bunch......not that I'm prejudiced or anything.....! ;)

I think he's marvelous too. :D

Quote
We've had this conversation before, about Nancy Barrett's excellent portrayal of "crazy" as Millicent.....but John Karlen's "crazy" is SO excellent you have to wonder how he does it!!  :o

SPOILER...

I think David Selby was also wonderful as the spacey Quentin of 1995, driven over the edge by Gerard's ghost. ... Not that I'm prejudiced or anything, hee hee!!

GAWD...I'VE MISSED HIM!!!!!

Ah, Raineypark, it's fun seeing you so happy!

Quote
Rainey, who's just wondering: Did anyone else who acted on this show ever win an Emmy, a Tony or an Academy Award?
Donna McKechnie received a Tony for "A Chorus Line".  I can't stand anything she did on DS, but even I have to admit that her stage credits are remarkable.

Grayson Hall was nominated for both a Golden Globe and Oscar for her supporting role in Night of the Iguana.  Why isn't that fantastic movie on DVD yet?  Sigh

Where is your mind Julia99?
...maybe not off the board but please keep it off my post!

A reminder... Online posting and messaging precludes readers from seeing facial expressions or hearing the writer's voice, which in the absence of certain emoticons might be the only clues as to whether the person is joking is not.

But of course we know that once someone begins a topic, its author doesn't get to dictate who or how (assuming it's within the board guidelines) they can respond to it.
