close encounters of the jeff clark kind.
« on: June 24, 2008, 02:28:30 AM »
today the lovely ms.jaclyn smith(plus two gayish associates)came into the store where i work.

to the world of course ms.smith is best known for her starring role on t.v.'s "charlie's angels" but to us she is so much more than just that...she is also the former mrs.roger davis!

we are absolutely forbidden to pester celebs as they shop(although i've had numerous tete a tete with linda evangelista.long story).so while most people might be tempted to say "oh i love your work on 'charlie's angels'" i wanted to say "i'm a huge 'dark shadows' fan weren't you married to one of the actors?" and "didn't you audition for the role of victoria winters?".

i kept my mouth shut.who knows how things stand between her and her ex-husband. [ghost_undecided]

If you'd been able to ask about RD, she might not have been too pleased because she's said in several interviews that she prefers to believe that marriage never took place. So, maybe you should count yourself lucky that you weren't able to ask.  [ghost_wink]  However, it would have been interesting to hear her take on auditioning for Vicki because I don't think she's ever publicly commented on that.

I've heard that too.  I heard him comment several years ago that she wrote a book and didn't even mention their marriage in it.

I only would have known that she worked with Kate Jackson.   That might have been a touchy subject too.    They fought over money I think, with Kate getting more at first because... she could act.    The other two were then more popular and got raises.    I don't know if Kate lost money.

I remember some instructor in my freshman year of college (first few days I think) describing (from a recent article) this upcoming show "Charley's Angels" and the programming ideas becoming popular, that it was part of... I remember thinking civilization was ending.   Emma Peel, there's your role model.

Jaclyn and Kate are actually very good friends. They're even godparents to each others' children.  [ghost_wink]

All of Roger's bad behavior can be forgiven because of one thing:
his scantily clad bathing suit shots in the film Ride the Wild Surf (1964)
Woof!

david,

i'd like to see that.despite the loathsomeness that is peter-jeff-ned-whatever even i have to admit that the young roger davis was pretty easy on the eyes.

mspeel007, I'm wondering if you misread Magnus' post, especially in light of your choice of screen name.  [scratch]

I really don't think so.    Mrs. Peel is not going to be her own role model.... though then again, maybe she was....

Midnite.... thanks for tending to the site, very much, but why not hang oiut and speak more often?    You don't have to explain or justify yourself, I just wanted to say it would be nice if you spoke more.
