Actually, I just fit in watching the first 30 minutes and I love what I've seen. So far there are really two stories taking place: in the present Harker, having taken refuge in a convent, is explaining to Sister Agatha what happened to him at Dracula's castle, and in the past we see Harker's experiences unfold. The part at the castle, so far anyway, is extremely faithful. Is there humor? Yes, but only if you've seen a previous version of Dracula because the humor derives from remarks Dracula makes to Harker, remarks those of us who have already seen Dracula recognize as having double meanings, and I'll leave it at that. But there is more humor in the present. To say Sister Agatha is quite the unconventional nun for her time would be an understatement, but she is quite the hoot and I love every second that she's on screen.
Of course, I've only seen 30 minutes out of a total 4 hours and 30 minutes, but if the remainder of the show is in the same vein (no pun intended), I'm going to really enjoy this version...
