Although I have completely relinquished any control that I ever had over the Watching Project into hands that are far more capable than mine, I still would like to make a suggestion: a Project Vacation.

Most of the Watchers seem to be behind in their Watching, and once you get behind, it can be tough to catch up when the Project is marching relentlessly forward, heedless of whom it might be crushing in its progress.  Furthermore, Christmas is coming, and most Watchers have more non-Dark Shadows activities than usual to distract them from their Watching duties.

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have the suggested hiatus right at the end of 1795, but I believe that on our current schedule that wouldn't be until after Christmas, so maybe we should pause earlier than that.

Therefore, I'm requesting feedback on three questions:

1) Should we have a hiatus?

2) If so, when should hiatus take place?

3) Once the hiatus starts, how long should it last?  One week?  Two weeks?  Forty days?  (Please, not forty days!  I'd pine away and die!)

Probably. After all, if the Sci-Fi Channel could pre-empt DS for every real or imagined holiday (sometimes for almost the entire month of December), why can't the forum - especially when the upcoming holiday season is quite possibly the most hectic time of year in nearly everyone's life?

2) If so, when should hiatus take place?

Well, why not right after the latest batch of announced episodes - meaning right after Ep #450 on December 14th?

3) Once the hiatus starts, how long should it last?  One week?  Two weeks?  Forty days?  (Please, not forty days!  I'd pine away and die!)

Perhaps three weeks? That way the Watching Project would begin again on January 7th.

I agree wholeheartedly with you, MB.  I vote for the Watching Project to take a Holiday Hiatus after December 14th for 3 weeks, starting up again on Monday, January 7th.  I am one of the Watchers who is behind, so I would appreciate the break.  That way, I don't have as many episodes to watch to catch up.

Possibly unfortunately for your bank account, Ep #451 is one of the last ones on Collection #6, so you'll also need to order Collection #7 if you want to keep up with the WP episodes for the week of January 7th. Though if you have unlimited funds (or if people gift you with money for the holidays), I suppose that might not be an issue. 

But at any rate, we'll look forward to you joining whenever you can.  We especially enjoy new opinions from new members.
