This past weekend, NY Times Op-Ed Columnist Maureen Dowd called for letting your [fanged] freak flag fly on Independence Day.  From My Deathless Passion (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/04/opinion/04dowd.html?ref=maureendowd):

"It wasn’t until I was in high school that fangs started to seem alluring — with the arrival of the campy daytime soap 'Dark Shadows,' set in Maine and featuring the vampire Barnabas Collins. (Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have discussed an adaptation.)"
