Lucky, lucky Barnabas: Now he has somebody to show off for.  Willie would never be able to appreciate Barnabas's cleverness properly, and if he ever manages to steal Vicky from Burke, she'll say, "You're so clever, Barnabas - but tell me again what you did, because I don't understand."  But he can get Vicky to shut Burke up, and then come back and boast to Julia about it, and she'll understand exactly how finesse-ful he was.  She may be a pain, but she has her uses.

Poor Mrs. Johnson.  Nearly ten o'clock at night, and Vicky's going to bother her to get some supper for David.  I can understand not wanting David to get his own supper, which no doubt would be a little heavy on the dessert and a little light on the vegetables - but couldn't Vicky get for David herself?  Or would Mrs. Johnson throw a fit in the morning when she saw that the kitchen had been disturbed?

The scene at the end was very sweet.  But would anything have changed if Sarah had appeared to Barnabas?

[lghy]  And something tells me that's exactly the way he thinks.

Hooray! [cheerleader]  I'm finally caught up!   [banana]

Very clever of Barnabas to tell Vicki that Burke is investigating him! [thumb] He is manipulating her very nicely, and was able to show Julia what he could do without resorting to violence.  I prefer this Barnabas to the one who killed Jason to get what he wanted.  This is the beginnings of the Barnabas I know and love the best. [cheer]

Lucky, lucky Barnabas: Now he has somebody to show off for.
Julia's arrival was lucky for Barnabas - now he does , indeed, have someone to brag to, who appreciates his finesse! [chrmg]

David got home way too late!  It sure took a long time for him and Sarah to go to Eagle Hill Cemetery.  I think that Vicki should have made David get his own dinner, but she should have been watching to make sure he got nutritious food.  David was let off easy for his lateness by having Mrs. Johnson cater to him.   [smrtasg]

Sarah sure is cagey with what she says.  She told David that the occupant of the coffin "went away" - without going into more detail. [winkg]

That last scene of Barnabas wanting to see Sarah in the mausoleum was sad.  I felt sorry for him. [cryg]

Congratulations, EmeraldRose!

I agree about David's lateness.  Vicky should have read him the riot act and sent him to bed without any supper.

By the way, I noticed that when he came in, he tried to get out of talking to Vicky by saying, "I have to go change."   For what?  He had to know that he had missed dinner.

Well, considering that later, when he's talking to Julia, he's wearing pajamas and a robe, presumably for bed.  :)

presumably for bed.
I thought about that, but if that's what he meant, then surely it would have been more natural for him to say, "I have to get ready for bed."  Yes, I know, I'm nitpicking.

This is DS. When do people speak naturally?  [lghy]

(Actually, fanfic in which the characters don't speak in the same sorts of stylized speech as they do on the show is one of my big pet peeves because the writer clearly isn't listening and picking up on the characters' actual speech patterns. But then, I'm a stickler that fanfic (or even authorized books, stories, plays, etc') should be as close as possible within the new story to being as accurate a reflection of the show as possible. The writers who take the time to do that have written some amazing stories...)

Finally got a chance to watch this.  What did Sarah expect David to play with her.  How long can you stay in the coffin?? Or lets find the body of Jason McGuire, now that really would have been a secret.

Besides everything that has been said, why is Vickie meeting Burke so late. I can't imagine Collinsport having a  Midnight Movie. Now Barnabas might like that. Casino Royale that would have been an interesting movie.

David could have always put a TV dinner in the oven. The cooking might have been better than Mrs. Johnsons.

DS is turning into a show that takes place during the night, more than the day.
