Julia is certainly getting brave in her old age, isn't she!
But why she knowingly walked into this mess I'll never know.
As usual, this is great reading. Vivid and real. There's always that nervous edge - even in the calmer moments of the story (which are growing fewer lately).
I re-read this entire story last week. Thing is, you don't really have to. Each chapter is exciting and stands on its own.
There's only ONE problem with these chapters. NO QUENTIN !!!
Last we left the poor boy (weeks and weeks ago, I might add...ahem), he was suspended in some sort of hellish void. It's this sort of thing that keeps me awake at night.
If he's not in the next chapter, I may be forced to do something drastic. Don't make me TAKE STEPS, Mr. Rainey.
