Now, just where is that CD...

I used to have the album "Ghost In The Machine" by The Police, in 1981. My fave was, Hungry For You (j' aurais toujours faim de toi).

And back in '81 did you realize what Sting was really singing about? ;)

Let's say that guideline #10 currently prevents us from discussing most of it here on the forum. (Sting, that insatiable little devil - no wonder he's so into Yoga! 8))

Oh yeah, I remember! 1981 was wild, I don't think I was sober a day in that year. It was my junior year in high school.

Right-click won't work for me when trying to edit a message either.

That one isn't your browser's fault.  It's disabled for the time being.

"Disable smileys" is always turned on.  I type out the smileys and other code myself.  I mean, when I type out the smiley, it doesn't work -- I just see the letters I typed -- the smiley doesn't appear.

Yikes.  I didn't see it turned on in the message I'm quoting here and I can't come up with an explanation for the smileys not showing up in it.  I don't understand!!!

Hey - who are you calling over 50?! ::)

Nobody I know but myself!

Maybe I should've said the Over 40 crowd as well as the Over 30 crowd. Beyond that is pushing the envelope--my 20 yo daughter has no idea who the Moody Blues are.

I guess I'm the newly middle age crowd. Where did the 80's go?

Back in the 70's, everyone over 30 was ready for Medicare!! Personally, I think we're all looking pretty good for some of the over 50 crowd.

Im more with the early "40's' crowd but I feel more healthier now than I ever did when I was younger. My daughter who is 19 and her boyfriend still can't make the 3 mile jog that I do everyday!  The funny thing is that I could barely walk to the corner store back when I was in my 20's and now that I've hit 40 here I am running!
It's strange but sad how we take youth for granted when we're young.  I wish I knew then what I knew now!

BTW,  I love Sting!  ;-)

I feel the opposite Cassandra. When I was in high school, I was in perfect shape. I jogged, worked out every day, played tennis, etc. I think it's the only reason I survived all the drugs and booze back then. My best friend in high school died not long after we graduated. After having a baby 6 years ago, and surviving a major car wreck just 4 months later, I now have to struggle to get back into shape. It totally messed me up. I do walk 4 miles a day, back and forth from my daughter's school though. It helps!

Wow, it sounds like you went through alot yourself Cheryl.  Those were some days and I think every generation has it's share of youth problems, be it drugs, drinking or whatever. Some are lucky enough to survive it and unfortunately, there are others who don't.

That's great that you walk 4 miles now!  Good for you! It's the best medicine.  I even have my Mom walking now everyday, she's 79 & looks great!

I am very lucky to be here also since I was so very sick 5 years ago and I shrudder to think of what may have been had I not acted immediately on my suspicions.

I end up walking most of the time, but if my neighbor, who drives her kids to school, happens to see me, she gives me a ride. I envy her, she has a son that has red hair. All of her other kids have blonde hair like my daughter. Getting back to the title of this topic, this morning, I was a parent helper in my daughter's class, I do that once or twice a week. I had come back to the classroom after finishing laminating some of the kids work in another room, and the teacher was talking about bats, of all things, I walk in on a lecture about bats, and hear him saying something about bats flying at night, and explaining a paper about bats that he wants them to work on. I  immediately thought of this topic, can't get away from Dark Shadows any place!

True Cassandra, just wish I had said no to all of it, but I'm an overcomer. I really believe it's because of my parents prayers, and the prayers of others, who never stopped praying for me.
