For those who might be interested, another Lara Parker sighting- Lara's episode of The Night Stalker entitled The Trevi Collection will air on ME TV Sunday April 16th at 10 pm.
-
Despite my indicating a few weeks ago that I wasn't going to bother watching Night Stalker, I ended up doing it after all! I know I saw this one at some point, but don't remember anything about it.
-
That's a really good episode. Nina Foch is in it as well.

I will never forget Lara telling the story of how Darren McGavin rather magnanimously took her aside and told her that she had no idea how to play horror camp.
-
Oh boy, Uncle Roger. I'm just trying to imagine Parker's face during that conversation! I think I was present at one fan q & a where someone asked her about NIGHT STALKER and she just said that she didn't get along with McGavin.

I think a lot of people had issues with McGavin. He did a show called Riverboat during the early 1960's and his costar was Burt Reynolds. Reynolds left the show abruptly and his only comment about Mr. McGavin was that he was going to be in for a big surprise on the first Easter after his death. [easter_grin] [easter_grin]

I know I saw this ep, but it's another one of Lara's guest shots that I have barely no memory of. I'll definitely have to check it out...
-
MB there is a distinctive facet to Parker's work in this that I can't reveal without it being a major spoiler.
I think you will like it a lot if you do watch.

I just couldn't get into the series when it first aired; I'm not sure why. I watched a few episodes but I couldn't find them interesting and then stopped watching altogether. I have no real memories of it.

I watched it fairly regularly but I found the premise of the show somewhat limited. It quickly fell into the monster of the week. I thought that the Mister R.I.N.G. episode was the worst. Until the one about Spanish Club Moss....
-
It did become a monster-of-the-week thing. Maybe that's what made it uninteresting to me. Somehow The X-Files made it work. This one didn't. Maybe it just wasn't the time.

I think that David Chase was a writer on the show. Maybe Mr. Chase contributed to the episode where the zombie was going after members of organized crime, long before his days of writing about Tony Soprano and Paulie Walnuts? [easter_huh] [easter_smiley]
