The slideshow will show 8 graphics (over a period of 7 days) using the color still for Scene 104, but as I pointed out, they will all be cropped versions of the still (some more cropped than others), so the graphics will never show the full still. So, with that in mind, here's the full still:

(Click here for a 700X1028 version)

But just because there are 8 graphics using the color still, that doesn't mean that Scene 104 will end when they do because after the color still, the graphics will switch over to using a B&W still from the scene. But more on that in January...

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of today's quote -

Page 45/Scene 104 - Tracy: 'Quentin...I think we should see a...doctor.'

- check out -

Continuing with Scene 104, beginning with yesterday's quote -

- this post, though this time around it's today's quote, and only read down that far - and today's quote definitely starts to bring out the concern I referred to earlier when it comes to Tracy's worry about Quentin's recent behavior...

Continuing with Scene 104 ...

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of today's quote -

Page 45/Scene 104 - Tracy: 'What's wrong with your leg.'

- check out -

Moving on with Scene 104, beginning with Tracy's reply to Quentin:

- this post to learn how this section of Scene 104 may have been shot - also, and so it begins - but it only begins in the 129 minute version of the film...

When it comes to today's graphic -

- I not only replaced the scan from the DS Movie Book, I used an entirely different crop of the since discovered still from what I'd used in 2016 -

- because a close-up works much better with the quote - I would have used a close-up back in 2016 but the scan from the DS Movie Book was too grainy to do so...

Page 45/Scene 104 - Quentin: 'What?...oh...I took a ride over to the Mill this morning and that stupid horse...threw me. It'll be OK. Don't worry.'

- check out -

Moving on with Scene 104, beginning with Quentin's reaction/reply to Tracy:

- this post - and only read as far as this quote...

When it comes to today's graphic -

- once again not only did I replace the scan from the DS Movie Book, I used an entirely different crop of the since discovered still from what I'd used in 2016 -

- because a close-up (or as close as can be gotten to a close-up of Quentin with that still) works much better with the quote - and again I would have used a close-up back in 2016 but the scan from the DS Movie Book was too grainy to do so...

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of today's first quote -

Page 45/Scene 104 - Tracy: 'I asked you not to ride Ulysses.'

- and/or today's second quote -

Page 45/Scene 104 - Quentin: 'I wasn't. It was Dubloon.'

- check out -

Moving on with Scene 104, ...

- this post to learn how this section of Scene 104 may have been shot - also, and so a second indication of Charles' growing incursion into Quentin's waking life comes with his belief that he rode Charles' horse Dubloon - but it only comes in the 129 minute version of the film...

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of today's quote -

Page 46/Scene 104 - Tracy: 'Quentin, maybe it's this house. Maybe we don't belong here. You know, we don't have to stay.'

- check out -

Moving on with Scene 104, beginning with Tracy attempting to bring the subject of a doctor back:

- this post - and it's quite interesting how Tracy's remarks here fit with something Carlotta will say in upcoming Scene 153, though as the film currently stands the audience never gets to make that connection because, as we know, Scene 104 only appears in the 129 minute version of the film...

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of today's first quote -

Page 46/Scene 104 - Quentin: 'Look, in the light of day the whole thing seems completely ridiculous. [He sits next to her.] Why don't we at least give it the day and we'll talk about it this afternoon.'

- and/or today's second quote -

Page 46/Scene 104 - Quentin: 'And -- I'll think about that doctor.'

- check out -

And wrapping up Scene 104, beginning with today's first quote -

- this post to learn how this section of Scene 104 may have been shot...

When it comes to yesterday's and today's graphics -

- they were made using crops from this still -

(Click here for a 532X700 version)

- which, so far as I can remember, has never been officially published anywhere.

This next still I'm sharing is an extremely rare one. Not only have I never seen it published anywhere, I've rarely seen it for sale anywhere. And because it would certainly seem to be associated with Scenes 105, 106 & 106A, all of which don't appear in any version of the film, it's hard to know if it's depicting a moment from the sequence or if it's a candid. And if it's a moment from the sequence, if it appears at the beginning or the end of it. There's nothing in the scripted versions (yes, there are more than one, and we'll eventually get into that) to indicate the still depicts a moment from the sequence. But as we well know, how the script might indicate the scenes were shot and how they were actually shot can be very different.

Because it might seem to depict Gerard in a melancholy mood, which would be a departure from his normal angry or lecherous moods, both of which he most often exhibits in the film, I'd like to think the still does indeed depict a moment from the sequence, either from its beginning or end. And because it might be from the beginning rather than the end, I'm sharing the still now instead of later on:

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of the first part of today's quote -

Page 46/Scene 106 - Gerard: 'Don't move.'

- and/or the second part of today's quote -

Page 47/Scene 106 - Gerard: 'Now, Brutus...now, Tar...'

- check out -

Continuing with Scene 106:

- this post - and I've often wondered what kind of a name is "Tar" for a dog? - maybe he/she brought to mind the color of tar? - both dogs are black - but would Sam Hall have known that when he wrote the script? - I suppose he could have pictured them as black dobermans - who knows...

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of today's first quote -

Page 47/Scene 106 - Gerard: 'She won't hurt you...no...she's just come down to ride...that's all. She likes Gerard.'

- and/or today's second quote -

Page 47/Scene 106 - Gerard: 'She is a friend. A friend. See?'

- check out -

Continuing along with Scene 106:

- this post - and what was I saying about Gerard being lecherous?...
