Silly, not because of the dances that they were doing (although according to some posters on this thread, those dances were rather dated for 1966), but because... well, I don't know. You have to admit that some of those guys had really goofy expressions on their faces. [ghost_cheesy]

I like that plot idea. It could easily consolidate all of the main points of the original Barnabas arc into a feature film, even eliminating the need to cut Maggie out or transform her into Magtoria Wintrevans.

Nicholas can only claim that Angelique was first born in 1774 if we throw the entire Judah Zachery storyline out the window.

I think there's no definite age for any of the characters; the writers chose what they wanted it to be at the time, and if they wanted to change it later, they did.
As I said, the plane crash occurred a little bit before the beginning of the 1795 storyline. Barnabas wanted to kill Burke because he fell in love with Vicki (and probably planned to groom her into Josette #2, as he tried to do with Maggie), and Burke was a major rival for her affections. I believe he thoroughly trashed Roger's reputation and endangered the cannery's prosperity a few times, but nothing much else.

Burke was also apparently killed in a plane crash just before 1795. David predicted this event, and Barnabas was happy because it saved him the trouble of getting his hands dirty by killing Burke himself.
I think Burke was supposed to be around 35.

Pansity provided what I consider the funniest non-flub moment on the show (
when she bumps her hips into Gregory's while singing! I love that bit so much, especially Jerry Lacy's reaction!
), so I like her a lot for that alone. She does lose points for constantly singing that song, though.

Back on topic, I agree that, though kind of silly, the dance sequence in EP2 was a great introduction to Carolyn and let us know everything we needed to know about her relationship with Joe.

I have a hard time buying Elizabeth as 18 years older than Roger. But hey, I have a hard time buying Barnabas as 12 years older than Sarah, too.

A combined character, as in HoDS, would be ideal, in my opinion. They should also have her already working at Collinwood when the movie opens. The fact that DC rushed to bring Barnabas into the 1991 show right away is one of my least favorite things about the Revival, and I'd prefer to have Maggicki already working at Collinwood to "Oh, here's the new governess, and the new vampire at the same time!"

At series start/first appearance:

Barnabas: 21-30 (XD)
Victoria: 18-21
Maggie: 18-21
Carolyn: 18-21
Elizabeth: 49 (she lists her age as 50 when she
writes it on the list of deceased Collins family members
a year later)
Roger: 40-45
Julia: 43-47
Stokes: 45-65
Angelique: My best guess would be around 18-21 when she became immortal.

Eh, "disgusting" was a bit harsh, I admit. And I never said he was disrespecting McCain; but really, how could comparing Obama to a someone like Abraham Lincoln be anything but an outright endorsement? I don't want to discuss the subject any more, though, as I don't want this to turn into a flame war.

Sorry for the double-post, but I was told by someone that Kathryn Leigh Scott just said that she thought Keira Knightley was a lovely actress and would do a good job with the part; it wasn't an outright endorsement; she was asked about Knightley specifically in that instance, so it's possible she was merely being polite. She also went on to imply that she'd prefer an unknown in the role.

I just watched most of the Selby bit on YouTube.

The opening bit where he discussed what positions the DS characters would be appointed to was admittedly funny.

The Obama endorsement was disgusting. Using the Lincoln discussion as a jumping-off point for getting on his soapbox was uncalled for, and I would have thought David Selby would have more dignity than that. There is a time and a place for discussing one's political views, and that was not it. If he had been asked who he was supporting at a Q&A session, that would be fine, but going from discussing the Lincoln project to "VOTE OBAMA!" was ridiculous.

The rapping the Gettysburg address just seemed really strained, especially when he started snapping his fingers.

I wouldn't have enjoyed it either. It just seems... tacky. And it probably alienated a large group of the fans there.

If I flew all the way across the country to a DS Fest, I'd want to hear David Selby talking about Dark Shadows, not about who he's supporting for President.
