Yes, he was inspired by The Dunwich Horror, right?

I disagree that the 1897 was the best arc, but it was one of the best ones, and the fast pace contributed to that. The Leviathan arc felt at some points like hardly anything was happening.

Borgosi, if you want to post them on something other than MySpace, I recommend PhotoBucket. You can upload the photos and dedicate an "album" to them.

Lara Parker is also writing a novel about Elizabeth and Quentin in the 1920s. If she has Elizabeth as a young adult in that novel, that throws Elizabeth's 1917 birth into question. [ghost_wacko]

Jonathan Frid and Mandy Patinkin's baby from the past.

I'm typing this on something that handles the quote feature incredibly poorly due to sticking the quotes in the wrong place and lacking copy/paste functionality (and it's not the board's fault; this thing just doesn't have it on any site).

@MB: Exactly.

@Comments about the actors signing up, I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing that info.

Anyway, I must thank everyone who provided coverage of the Fest, though I am disappointed with a few things, notably the fact that we have practically no new information about the movie. But the fact that HoDS and NoDS are nearing release on DVD is far better news than anything I got from this year's E3.

That surprises me. I always figured that that was only to check for crude usernames or duplicate email addresses; I had no idea there was a thorough vetting process. Technically, though, Lee's account is the thousandth to sign up, not the thousandth member. The way I see it, if your account wasn't approved, you're not a member.

In response to Taeylor, Jonathan Frid posts occasionally; that's all I know of.

This seems like a fairly peaceful forum most of the time. I find it hard to believe that 122 of its users had their accounts deleted at some point.

Falling - Julee Cruise
Teardrop - Massive Attack
Worry About You - Ivy

For some reason, I can see Julia giving music boxes of all of those to Barnabas. For those who recognize the names but can't place them, edited versions were used as the themes to Twin Peaks, House, and Kingdom Hospital, respectively.

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to add that, had the movie been done around ten years ago when she could have passed for the right age, I think Laura Harris could have been a good Carolyn.

Seeing as how 1995 Carolyn was the same person, just incredibly traumatized, she may count Charity and Pansity as two separate roles, as well.

Games / African-American DS Casting
« on: July 24, 2008, 11:49:19 PM »
I also got the idea for this thread while looking at the Movie Cast Ideas. If an African-American remake of DS was done (I'm aware that it's incredibly unlikely; that's why this is on the Games board), what actors would you choose?

Barnabas - Will Smith (probably because of the ears)
Elizabeth - Alfre Woodard or Jasmine Guy
Julia - Whoopi Goldberg (don't ask me why, because I don't know)
Maggie - Keyshia Knight-Pulliam
Carolyn: Gabrielle Union

Games / Nightmare DS Casting
« on: July 24, 2008, 11:40:52 PM »
I got this idea while looking at the Movie Cast Ideas thread on the Current Talk '08 board. We know who you want to see, but who would you least like to see? I put this under the Games board because it's more "for fun" than the other thread. My only request is that, before you post your nightmare casting, you check to see if anyone has posted that person as their ideal casting on the Movie Cast Ideas thread; we don't want to step on feelings.

That said, a couple of my nightmare castings would be:

Barnabas - Steve Carrell
Julia - Fran Drescher
