That tree that they staged Angelique's hanging in has certainly grown. But then, it has been 50 years...

I was pleasantly surprised how much time was spent discussing Lyndhurst, the Gould family and Sleepy Hollow. Plus all the various cut aways before commercials of the grounds. I saw quick shots of the greenhouse and rose cottage.

Yes, it was quite pleasantly surprising how much each show on Fox featured exteriors from all sorts of angles as well as interiors of some of the rooms. And unless it turns out to be a huge file, I hope to share a video of the package they put together for Sunday's show on the background of Lyndhurst. Not that most of us don't already know what they went into, but it's still worth sharing.

Also, I believe this was the first time I had seen Lyndhurst lit up after dark. It looked stunning!

Indeed it did - and you can bet that captures of those sequences will be showing up here sooner or later...

Great captures MB.

Thanks. I'm definitely enjoying taking and sharing them.  [easter_smiley]

The dog show did rather well - though I suspect most people mainly tuned in to see the dogs rather than the glimpses of Lyndhurst, like I and patrickm and others here may have.  [easter_cheesy]

Fast Overnights:

"FOX | Westminster Kennel Dog Show coverage averaged 2.2 mil and a 0.3 (compared to The Moodys‘ most recent 550K/0.2, just saying)."

Hmmm, does the mysterious glow indicate that Angelique went for a swim?

I got curious and looked up our old DS hotel in Tarrytown. It was most of the times we were there the Tarrytown Hilton, then became the Doubletree ... now it is called the Sleepy Hollow Hotel and Conference Center. I couldn't help but wonder after all the years of dealing with a hotel full of Dark Shadow people how they felt being taken over by Westminster dogs and dog owners ..Lol. Really miss those fun times ..but wouldn't be the same with the diner across the street torn down to make room for the car dealer.   [cryg]

Interesting development about the change in the status of the hotel. If it's no longer part of a major chain, with perks for organizations that book conventions, I wonder if that will take them out of the running for any future DS events. Should there be any.

I never ate at that diner - I ate at two of the restaurants at the hotel. They were a bit expensive, but the food was good. Though when it comes to one of them, the place was so dark that it was practically like those restaurants where you eat in pitch blackness. Well, it really wasn't quite that dark, but it was REALLY dark, so dark that you could barely see your dining companion(s) or even your food!  [easter_rolleyes]

A capture of the back and side of the house from footage that wasn't shown in the section from which I took the captures in Reply #15:

And a close-up shot of the front of the house:

And these are the last two instances in which Lyndhurst was used as part of Saturday's broadcast. Tomorrow I'll try to start getting captures from Sunday's broadcast - but considering it took me two days to get captures from Saturday's two hour broadcast, I suspect it's going to take several days to get captures from Sunday's over four hour broadcast...

The El Dorado diner was certainly convenient, especially for those who didn't have access to a car. But I found the food to be overpriced and okay. Just okay. There were better and less expensive options available in Tarrytown proper.

What was nice about the diner was that it was open 24 hrs, so you wouldn't miss out on any fest activities. Plus it had a huge menu. I considered the hotel dining options to be far more overpriced - only ate there for the banquet. I too did notice how dark it was MB. Course we always did manage to commandeer the bar area after closing for a hang out area. LOL.

Found an article describing how bad things have been for the Tarrytown hotels during covid .

https://westchestermagazine.com/life-style/business/covid-hotel-industry/

It describes how messy things got between Hilton and Doubletree with lawsuits on both sides. Probably explains the recent  hotel name change.
