Malicious Code Infiltrates Internet Explorer
« on: June 25, 2004, 08:52:33 PM »
Security analysts say that the malicious code that has been infecting some Windows machines since Thursday morning was planted via an IIS (Internet Information Services) vulnerability on the Web servers that host some high-traffic sites. The malware installs keystroke logger and other malicious tools.

(And BTW, in case you wonder, something like this cannot happen on this site because IIS servers are Windows servers and our host uses Linux (of course  ;)). *I* would *NEVER* host this forum at a Web space provider service that runs Windows on its servers!!)

How weird...a few minutes after reading MB's above post, I went downstairs at work, and the newspaper was opened to an article about this!!

Quoting from the Trentonian:

Users can search their computers for the files Kk32.dll or Surf.dat to see if they are infected.
