O/T Screen Captures
« on: October 22, 2009, 03:18:31 AM »
Forgive this off topic question out of nowhere, but I'm about ready to pull my hair out & I figure if I get one good idea from starting this thread...well, I just need HELP!

I love taking screen captures & recording video footage to use for 'fan videos' & other projects. For my past computers, I've always used a WinTV card/application for accomplishing this & it's mostly worked fine for me. But now, after upgrading to a new computer with Vista, I'm unable to use my old card.

Does anyone know of any good programs for taking screen caps & recording video footage?  If either from a DVD rom or with using a video card.

Again, forgive a stupid question, I'm just going nuts here out of frustration..  [hall2_cry]

..And after a few days of mad searches, I have found a solution & it is VLC Media Player 1.0.2.

*sigh of relief*

I've used VLC in Linux but I wasn't aware that there's a version for Windows. Sorry about that. But in my defense, I use Windows as little as possible.  [hall2_wink]

I think you'll like VLC - and I'm glad you've found something that works for you.  [hall2_smiley]

No need to apologise, I was mostly just venting to myself in here.   [8_1_1]
