Yet another version of the Bagle worm is on the loose and is already causing trouble in parts of Europe. Bagle.U appeared early this morning and has begun spreading quickly, even though it contains none of the scial engineering tricks that Bagle's author has used to help previous versions succeed. For a while I was getting automatic updates from Microsoft to download practically every time I turned on my computer.  Now I haven't gotten one for at least three weeks.  I checked my settings and I'm supposed to still receive them.

Does anyone have any idea if Microsoft has been putting out updates that I should be installing?

I haven't had any Windows updates for a while (I assume that's what you're referring to, Vlad).  I think it might be that when the computer is new it has a lot of updates to catch up on.  I know in the beginning I seemed to get them all the time and then it became more occasional.

But, in connection with this worm, it's the anti-virus that you need to make sure is up to date.
