Elementary Upcoming Schedule

I thought I better make this a separate topic to make sure it's seen.  I noticed at the end of "Elementary" tonight that they had previews for Sunday.   So, I checked the schedule, and it's going to be on both Sunday, the 12th and another episode Monday the 13th.  Apparently the following week will be just the usual Monday, the 20th.

Gosh, they show new episodes of things during August now?

In the late Bronze Age, when I was a child, the only new material that was aired during the summer were variety specials and "summer replacement" shows--sometimes the latter were various pilots that hadn't gone to series, and they were often very interesting to see.

The networks show new shows/eps practically all year long nowadays. But then with some shows they make much fewer eps. Gone are the days of over 30 or even 22 eps - many shows do only 13 or fewer. The networks are embracing the European model more and more and there's no longer any such thing as a September through May TV season. And because of that a whole slew of new shows are launched in September/October, January/February and even June/July/or later...

thank you i missed that last night, and that makes sense to me since next month the new season of shows starts and they want to burn the rest of the season off

I remembered today that it was preempted a few weeks ago.  I just checked back in the Elementary thread and it was the Supreme Court nominee.  Apparently they wanted to finish at the originally scheduled time, so had to squeeze in an extra episode.  It also seems that the following week, Monday, August 27, will be the last one.
