I uttered the very serious threat (mostly to the trees around our house) to blow up ABC studios with an atomic bomb if they didn't bring DS back, but on my allowance at the time, I couldn't afford enriched uranium.

For me, the most memorable non-Cobert song on the Blue Whale jukebox was the theme to A MAN AND A WOMAN, by Francis Lai, which was quite popular in its day. I still love the song.

I’d recommend one of the many omnibuses of Lovecraft stories, since most of his Cthulhu mythos work is (oftentimes longish) short fiction. “Call of Cthulhu” is the primary tale that actually features Cthulhu, though it is referenced in many others.

For someone getting into Lovecraft for the first time, this is a pretty good volume, featuring a number of his pivotal works, including “Call of Cthulhu” and “The Dunwich Horror,” which more directly inspired the Leviathans story.

I was just researching info on the Leviathans for some work I'm doing and came upon an interesting tidbit I wasn't aware of. I knew about the connection to H. P. Lovecraft's work, of course, but I found this rather surprising.

I saw Burnt Offerings about a year or so ago, and I liked it a bit better than when I saw it as a teenager; back then, I thought it blew chunks. It's got great atmosphere and some unsettling moments (such as the scene with Oliver Reed and the kid in the swimming pool), but in the end, it didn't seem to pack much of a wallop. It struck me as being in the same league as some of the fair episodes of Night Gallery.

Sad to hear Quarry has passed on, but he seems to have lived a fascinating life. I love the COUNT YORGA movies, the second even more than the first. I saw RETURN OF COUNT YORGA (at the same theater where I saw HOUSE & NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS) before the original, and I think it was the first and only vampire movie to give me the creeps as a kid. They’re both a fine combination of chills and humor, the latter film in particular. I love the Halloween party at the beginning where the goofy guy dressed as Dracula wins the costume contest and turns to the cape-clad Yorga and says, “Sorry, fella.”

It was particularly jarring during those episodes to see Danny Bonaduce as David.

Thank you much. Glad you enjoyed it. [snow_grin]

More tanks. :)

Janet, I took LABYRINTH down from my Web site at Big Finish's request, since it's a possibility that it will yet be done as an audio book. Your best bet is to contact Big Finish and tell them how badly you want it.  [snow_wink]

Looks almost like an animation cell. I could get into an animated DS if it looked like that.

A belated happy happy, Dreadful one. :)

I pretty much agree with Doc & K9. While the prospect of the Depp movie is appealing, seeing NoDS as it was meant to be is enough to make one drool (assuming one is inclined to release saliva in his or her spare time).

I owe the author a drink. So I had a martini.

I HEARD THE THING, AND MY GOD...IT WAS ALIVE....
