Beautiful, beautiful pics. Thanks for putting those up! Jeez, I wish I could have been two places at once for that weekend...

I'm really enjoying seeing all these pics too. Always great to put faces to names.

Here's me.

What a great summation, Prof. Thanks for taking the time to put it all up there!

And those are great...shoes, by the way. ;)

What great pics! Many thanks for posting them. Makes me wish I'd been able to attend. I was at Horrorfind in Baltimore that weekend -- and I really did have a blast (two tires' worth; one in my car on the way up to meet Beth Massie, and one in Beth's van on the way back, just outside of DC; ah, such adventures). Got absolutely no complaints about Horrorfind -- in fact, it was quite fantastic -- but it's a pity that travel budgets and timing of cons don't allow for attending more of them more frequently.

Well, it's not as scary as MB's because, well, MB is just scary.

But it is kind scary, and I like it. Reminds me of my wife early in the morning. ;)

Current Talk '04 II / Re: a real bummer(adam story)
« on: August 07, 2004, 09:20:38 PM »
Yes I do.

Don't get me wrong, there are some strong aspects to the Adam storyline (Robert Rodan's acting not least among them), but having sat through that storyline twice, I don't think I'll ever bring myself to do it again. But don't give up. While there's a distinct difference between the earlier episodes and those ahead, some superlative moments lie in wait--many, many of them, as a matter of fact. The tone of the show changes, and I'll be the first to say I prefer the "real world" feel it had in its formative days, but there is lots to look forward to, especially in the 1897 period. The actors got to shine many times over in some of the storylines yet to come.

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 II / Many birthday wishes...
« on: August 07, 2004, 04:51:51 PM »
I've missed wishing a lot of people happy birthday, since I haven't had the opportunity to check in as often or as long as I'd like to. I, for one, really appreciate it when someone takes the time to recognize my birthday, so here's a great big Harpy Barfday to everyone who has just turned or is turning another corner on that hopefully long and winding road toward your final resting place.

OK, so it's a little morbid, but that's what we horror writers do. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My all-time favorite moment is when Barnabas takes Sarah's flute, shakes it at her, and says, "I hope you like playing 'London Bridge' on the moon, 'cause that's where you're going! Ho ho, bang....ZOOM."

Yep, that's my all-time favorite moment. ;)

Quote
so true i printed it just so i could read it but if a friend wanted to read it could you let them? does it mean to distribute it for profit?

Distributing it for profit is a major no-no, but one would be hard-pressed to stop you from letting a friend read your copy, especially since the Web site offers fiction for free. I haven't checked back on the site, but I expect it may be supported by advertising, so they're hoping anyone who visits the site will at least be exposed to the advertisers' promos. So giving a copy to someone else deprives the site of traffic that -might- end up being profitable somewhere down the line. Still, I doubt the advertising police are going to be coming down on you like a ton of bricks. ;)

When Nathan Forbes waits for Barnabas with a crossbow... and when Barnabas comes through the door, fires. Barnabas appears stricken, but then defiantly pulls out the bolt and menacingly growls, "You didn't get my heart, Lieutenant. You didn't get my heart."

I originally saw that at a friend's house before I ever got to watch the show regularly as a kid, so it was sort of a stand-alone ES moment -- and for me, a defining one.

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Re: Mozilla Question
« on: August 01, 2004, 05:53:13 AM »
I've never noticed any font size issues with Firefox. I haven't found any difference between its display and regular Mozilla, as best as I can remember. But yes, if one wishes to enlarge or reduce the fonts, use control + or control - to change them (or "View -> Text Zoom").
