Weekend montage
« on: July 15, 2002, 12:14:14 AM »
Oh my goodness, do I actually see    -     a person of color??? Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Was this a first and last happenstance?

I think the only other character played a black actor
was Estvan, King Johnny's pal.

You are correct.  That's a nurse we will be seeing shortly in Collinsport Hospital.  And aside from an Oriental gentleman who will show up later, and a huge, silent black man in 1897, that's as far as DS went beyond white bread actors/actresses.

Am I forgetting anyone?  I usually do!

Love, Robin

No, I don't think you are Robin.  Collinsport was whiter than Mayberry.

At least the nurse got lines.

Sarah, I believe it's Joe who is just underneath Adam.

I was wondering lately if any non-whites would be on the show.  Isn't it a beautiful thing that we have at least some diversity on tv now ;D  Collinsport is very white indeed! :-/

How well I remember those starched nursing caps and white uniforms.  Eek!

In case anyone is interested that also gets the Bravo channel, the actress will be on TV twice tomorrow-- playing Tom's nurse and in a recurring role as a junkie hooker on Hill Street Blues, one of those eps airing tomorrow at 9 a.m. Pacific, 12 noon Eastern.  [The late] Beverly Atkinson, credited on HSB as Beverly Hope Atkinson, portrays such a despicable character that you can't decide which you want to do first-- strangle her or applaud the performance.
