If this happens, it will truly be too sad for words. ABC would go from the network with the most soaps to the network without even one.

it is sad but at this point it doesn't surprise me. for whatever reason it seems like ABC wants to get completely out of the soap business.

in terms of their overall programming maintaining a single soap in a world of "talk" and "lifestyle" really doesn't make sense. still i hope it's not true.

NBC has one soap Days of Or Lives since the they Canceled Passions. In the case of ABC Brian Frons has it in for soaps and thinks ABC daytime lineup should be as boring as ABC's Live Well digital sub channel that they run on ABC O&Os.

Even though it hasn't been canceled, things aren't exactly looking good for General Hospital after these developments:

Katie Couric Talk Show Takes General Hospital Timeslot!

I suspect that we're heading toward a soapless TV-scape, but then at some point in the future, one of the networks will relaunch the soap opera, and the media will praise that network for being "innovative."
