Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG) announces the following breaking news for Dark Shadows (DS).

The new print issue SG #95 was just mailed to current postal-mail subscribers
with the latest DS news and updates. Following are some key highlights, plus
much more:

* A "Looking Back" special section has more SG-exclusive photos from unique
DS events over the past 18 months:
--- The DS guests at the Museum of Television & Radio's Tribute honoring DS
(including Dan Curtis, Alexandra Moltke, Kate Jackson, and Lela Swift at
their first DS event)
--- The DS guests at the "House of DS" 30th Anniversary" and "Night of DS
30th Anniversary" Celebrations.
--- The DS guests at the 2001 DS Festival convention in NYC.
For all events, guests are pictured individually and in groups, in candid and
posed shots. Also included: NANCY BARRETT, LARA PARKER, DAVID SELBY, JERRY
LACY, JOHN KARLEN, KATHRYN LEIGH SCOTT, MARIE WALLACE, DONNA WANDREY, DENISE

* SG #95 Premiere Announcements and Latest Updates:

--- MPI tells SG: The "Dark Shadows DVD Collection # 1" is due out May 28.
This is the 1st DVD Boxed Set of original episodes; subsequent sets are
planned every 2-3 months.
Each of the 4 discs contains 10 uncut episodes (40 total). They start with
Episode 210 - Willie Loomis opens Barnabas' coffin. The episodes have
upgraded picture quality, plus new interview clips and a collectible postcard.
SG # 95 has a preview of the MPI retailer ad for the set.

--- A new autographed color photo of DAVID SELBY as Quentin is available for

--- Kathleen Resch asks SG #95 to announce a projected May, 2002 publication
date for her "Leviathan DS Concordance." This illustrated book will detail
each individual episode during that time period. She now is taking pre-orders
at $21.00 (US) (+ $1 for padded envelope).
She hopes to publish her "1897 DS Concordance - Volume II" sometime this year.

--- SG #95 includes the following premiere information and more for the DS
Festival convention 6-28 to 6-30 at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, CA
(between Los Angeles and San Diego).
Expected guests: Nancy Barrett, David Selby, Lara Parker, John Karlen,
Kathryn Leigh Scott, Marie Wallace, Dennis Patrick, Diana Millay, Jim Storm,
Chris Pennock, and Roger Davis.
Special daytime excursion 6-28: Fans can choose between Disneyland or the new
Disney's California Adventure - both are in walking distance, as is the new
Downtown Disney shopping/entertainment complex.
SG #95 also has a general schedule and other programming information. The
Fest asks fans not to send any payment until after they receive its general

Volunteers are needed all weekend; those helping 4+ hours are invited to a

--- The Fest tells SG: "No Fest plans have been made yet beyond the 2002
Anaheim event. It is not yet determined when the Fest may return to NYC or at
what hotel location." Future SGs will update.

--- SG #95 includes recent photos of major filming locations for all 3
versions of DS: Seaview Terrace/Carey Mansion, The Black Pearl, Lyndhurst,
and Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, plus an update on Greystone (1991 DS'
Collinwood and Old House).

* SG #95 in-person / premiere / rare / vintage photos and articles:

--- Photos of JONATHAN FRID (Barnabas) from his 9-29 performances in
Crawfordsville, IN, and 12-15 in Norwalk, CT. Also featured: Details from his
Norwalk shows, Program Book biography, and a photo of him and Marie Wallace,
who attended the matinee.
Show producer Nancy Kersey: During an audience Q&A, he said "he was going to
take a break from doing his one-man shows for a while." He did 3 shows last
year and "that was quite a bit of work for him in his retirement" at age 77.
He enjoys the "quiet" life he has in Canada.

* 1966-1971 DS personnel:
--- SG Premiere Photo: JONATHAN FRID (Barnabas) during DS rehearsal - 1968.
--- Vintage photo of JOAN BENNETT (Elizabeth, Naomi, etc.) during DS
makeup/hairdressing.
--- DONNA McKECHNIE (Amanda Harris): Articles and pictures for her recent
one-woman show performances.
--- PAUL MICHAEL (King Johnny Romano) and family share a picture from MARION
ROSS' Star Ceremony on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame.
--- DENISE NICKERSON (Amy, Nora) as herself challenged the guest panelists on
"To Tell the Truth" for her 1972 role in "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate
Factory."
--- Background information about DAVID SELBY providing a voice for the
animated "The Griffin & The Minor Canon" film for West Virginia Public
Broadcasting.
--- GAIL STRICKLAND (Dorcas Trilling) stars in the new CBS drama "First
Monday."

*  For the 1991 DS personnel:
--- ROY THINNES (Roger, Rev. Trask) exhibits his portrait paintings.
--- LYSETTE ANTHONY (Angelique) talks about her British soap opera "Night &
Day."
--- Media coverage of the cancellation of the Sci Fi Channel series "The
Invisible Man," starring EDDIE JONES (Sam Evans).
--- Media coverage of the syndicated series "Tracker," starring ADRIAN PAUL
(Jeremiah).
--- Media coverage of the TNT original movie "The Pretender: Island of the
Haunted," starring MICHAEL T. WEISS (Joe, Peter).

All fans attending the Festival in June are invited to send their reports,
in-person photos, and video footage to the SG postal- mail or e- mail
addresses below. They are shared with SG's international readers and the DS
cast/crew, who directly receive complementary copies of each SG print issue.
A Contributor's Copy of SG is given in thanks for major donations.
